2027 Ford Mustang Mach 4 is a four door Mustang variant.
It will feature the 4cyl eco boost and the 5.0L V8. Mustangs first four door version (not including the Mach e). Built to take on the likes of the Dodge charger.
2027 Mercedes S-Class feature flat-plane crank V8 engines that have been tuned for higher rpms and power.
Most will feature all straight-sixes: the diesels will be S350 and 4WD S450d, then petrol 4WD S500, and PHEVs S450e and 4WD S580e. The PHEV ones have an electric range of around 60 miles.
For the V8 though you’ll need to wait for the AMG, and for a V12 the Maybach or, the armoured one, the GUARD.
Genesis just revealed a 1,100bhp V8 off-road supercar
Genesis Wild X Skorpio Concept. A V8-engined off-road supercar. It has been tailored “to the automotive culture and lifestyle of the Middle East, where off-road racing and recreational driving – often at high speeds while navigating airborne jumps – are a favourite pastime”.
1,100bhp and 850lb ft at your disposal, directed to a set of 18in beadlock wheels in 40in off-road tyres.
Other manufacturers are working on similar but haven’t launched. We’re talking about a tyre that can introspect on its own health, and examine the road it’s rolling over, and report to the car. Among other benefits this brings usefully earlier warning of danger, and more sensitive ABS, ESP and traction control.
We’ve had pressure and temperature sensors before, but mostly in the valve, which isn’t so accurate or immediate. The Cyber Tyre’s sensors are tiny chips right in the tread. They take acceleration measurements in both the three linear dimensions and twist, which pass up to a control unit that can calculate deformation and contact patch size. Similar chips sense pressure and temperature.

The donor car is a Mistral. Instead of the original Veyron’s 987bhp 8.0-litre quad turbo W16 engine, this gets the ultimate 1,578bhp incarnation of Piech’s 16cylindered powerplant first seen in the Super Sport. That means larger turbochargers, upgraded cooling systems, a reinforced gearbox and everything else that went with the 600bhp uplift.

It’s called the F.K.P. Hommage, named after Ferdinand Karl Piëch - the VW Group chairman who masterminded the Veyron and Many Other Things - and built to honour the 20th anniversary. First shown as a concept at the Tokyo show in 1999, but officially unveiled in 2005, the Veyron was first driven by Top Gear in 2006 - the globally recognised measure of a car’s true starting point.
