SEIZA literally means 'sit down straight' or meditation.
We all know that Karate begins and ends with respect. Seiza is a demonstration which reflects our respect for the dojo, the instructors (Sensei) and fellow students.
In Karate, we practise Seiza generally at the beginning and at the end of our practise session. Besides calming our mind from the regular hustle, it tends to give our mind and life a purpose and lits a fire in us to overcome the daily battles.
