Hey everyone! We are now taking orders for the forthcoming limited edition new vinyl album from BLC Mirror CLB! Only 150 copies are being pressed. Get your copy today, before it's too late!
Available today from Exquisite Noise Records! This is an amazing collaboration between Zachary Murdock and his band, alongside poet/essayist/philosopher Michael Meade. Fascinating stuff!
Here's a promo clip for "puzzle piece" #1 of the new season, for Pink Hearse Podcast. Each episode title contains a single word which will spell out a nine word phrase at the conclusion, one with the initials "i.a.a.b.m.w.i.f.b." A psychedelic podcast tapestry of voices from across the world, "i.a.a.b.m.w.i.f.b." serves as a way to find patterns in people through an exploration of poetic themes, curiosities and soulful questions pertaining to human existence. This first episode, like those to follow, contains a little bit of music and poetry, alongside various respected figures ruminating about their own place in the cosmos at present, on topics ranging from mortality to determining the appropriate level of engagement with this oft overwhelming and maddening world. It's a fascinating and thoroughly engrossing project, one which should inspire virtually all listeners to examine their lives in a different way.
This is just our cassette portion of what we refer to as "the vault." By my count there's about 80 tapes in here. Most are from the 1990s, of course, but even in these modern times, some still like the nice warm sound of recording to tape. So there are a few more recent artifacts sprinkled in here.
It might look like an unholy mess, but we've at least got most of it copied to digital by now. With notes about what's on each of them, and when it was recorded, et cetera. And this is actually the easy part! After that things REALLY exploded, with first the short lived and now semi-forgotten burning-to-CD phase (we've probably got a few hundred of those puppies), followed by the digital era we're still in with thousands of files all over the place. Going through all this stuff is a lot of work, but also extremely fascinating and endlessly fun!
Just out today! The single "Apocalypse Pearls" by Zachary Murdock. We're stoked to team up with him and the rest of the @CHANNELTHESUN team for this effort - as well as many more to come! Check out the official music video, and let us know what you think!
An authentic troubadour from the 1970s who continues to play out on a regular basis, Bill has been with us from basically day one and continues to amaze! With his smooth voice and tuneful acoustic picking, his sets usually consist of half originals and half well chosen covers, and are always a delight to witness. Here's one such clip, from a "living room concert" in 2007:
This was a live improvised piece recorded by Matt Montanya while I was talking to somebody else on the phone one night. We were hanging out at my apartment on 1855 Oak Grove Court in Columbus, Ohio, and trying to see what was happening later. Though edited down somewhat to this shorter version, all of the parts are live, in sequence, with no overdubs. He's the one who titled it "Jupiter's Moons," too. At a later date I created this video with footage shot one early morning around Morse/Tamarack/etc. I think it turned out really well.
