धर्मेंद्र कुछ समय से वह उम्र संबंधी बीमारियों से जूझ रहे थे. 10 नवंबर को उन्हें सांस लेने में दिक्कत आई थी, जिसके बाद उन्हें मुंबई के ब्रीच कैंडी अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था. 12 नवंबर को धर्मेंद्र को हॉस्पिटल से डिस्चार्ज कर दिया गया था और डॉक्टरों ने घर पर ही उनके आगे के इलाज की बात कही थी.
