Real talk: I’m hoping to start making videos again soon. I know less than 4K subscribers is very small time but it’s a lot to me. And I still have new people coming in everyday and dropping encouraging comments. To them and to all who’ve subscribed before, I want to keep making fun enjoyable content for you all.

My last two videos didn’t do the greatest, and I’ve started to put together a couple more but haven’t been feeling it. I feel like I captured lightning in a bottle with my “last video games released” video. I’ve been trying to recapture that same magic in a new video, but I didn’t realize how tough it’d be. I also know that if I put that same amount of energy into every video I’d likely only be able to release one every one or two months, and I’d like to upload a little more often.

This channel started off as just another “AI slop” channel but I’m trying to grow it into something more. But it’s also still trying to find its identity. I haven’t decided yet if it will be a purely video games based channel or a general content channel. I have a notepad full of ideas for new videos and it keeps growing by the day. I don’t want to put something out if it’s low quality or not engaging.

I’m going to continue to think this through and keep recording ideas whenever they pop into my head. I’ve started work on my next video but I’m debating some of my early editing choices, and I may make some changes. I also know that there are certain modern editing techniques that I need to learn and try to incorporate to keep my videos fun and interesting.

Anyway, if you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading my little slice of introspection. Keep watching this space. One of these days, I hope to really break through as a content creator 👍

Voting is in for my next video. Thank you to everyone who voted. My next video will officially be my take on why the PlayStation 2 was the best selling console of all time. The script is written, and now I just have to edit the video.

Also, I switched the thumbnail of my last video to the OG thumbnail. That’s twice I’ve paid for a thumbnail from different providers only to end up liking my own way better. I guess it’s a tax write off if nothing else 😅

The next video will be a little shorter than usual, maybe 12 minutes or so in length. I’m hoping shorter videos will allow me to have a more consistent upload schedule. I want to strive for twice monthly and eventually weekly.

Thank you for all 3.5K of you who have subscribed along the way 🙏 my content has been a mish mash of things as this channel finds its way. Some of you may be here from my AI days, some from my IRL videos, and a lot of you from my content around video games.

I’m still not entirely sure if I’m a video game content creator right now or not, but I want to lean into a bit for the time being. I may branch out a bit but at the same time I want to respect why each of you subscribed in the first place and try to create engaging content. Thanks for your patience as I continue to figure this stuff out 😊

I’m currently trying to get better with my thumbnails as a means by which to help my small channel grow even further.

My most popular video to date has been the one I released 3 videos ago talking about the last game released for almost every console.

I’m currently testing a new thumbnail (now up) to see if it helps to boost my metrics and allows my video to keep gaining traction. That said, let’s put it to a vote in the meantime. I’ll make a follow up post in case the thumbnails are too small for this poll:

Hey everyone 👋 after the success of my video outlining the last game for every console, my follow up videos didn’t perform as well as I would have hoped. Some of that might be just figuring out things like SEO and learning to design more interesting thumbnails, along with other things.

Some of it might be topical however, and I want to make sure I’m focused on content that you guys want to see. I’m still not sure if I’m a video game YouTuber at this point, or if I’m going to focus on more general topics. I know the way YouTube works is to make you pick a lane and stick with it, but we will see.

With that said, I have a couple of ideas in mind for the next video. The highest voted one from this poll will be the one I choose 🙂
