For the two people wondering: I have decided to officially retire from YouTube. Not because I don’t enjoy it, but because everything YouTube introduces seems to actively harm creators, small ones in particular. Ads, AI, moderation, the algorithm, copyright abuse, ToS and community guidelines BS, if by some miracle, I did make it to being a fairly large creator, I don’t see all of these things as being a worth-while struggle. I may still upload from time to time, but we’re talking once every two years. I wish I could keep uploading, but YouTube as a site seems to be more corporate and controlling than when I started.

After giving it some thought… Transformers One looks awful. I don’t mean visually, in that sense it’s actually quite good. But the humour, the voices, the character designs, the childish vibe, and the predictable plot all just turn me away. If it’s your thing, good on ya, have fun with it! But to me, a hardcore Transformers fan, this looks dumb. I want to like it, and there are aspects that I do like. But when being compared to the MCU is an insult, you done messed up. And this is what we get for the 40th anniversary of the franchise… it just feels like they don’t care anymore. So, I’ll go back to the Bayverse, the Cybertron games, and whatever else I can find. But this… it’s a definite skip from me. Also, to the folks saying “it’s just the first trailer,”… no. They had their one chance to rope in a large audience, and they failed harder than The Last Knight.

I'm a big Marvel fan. But, Transformers is my number 1. I want transformers to be bigger than Marvel once more. Rise of the Beasts is our one shot at that. I predict it won't be anything special (considerably disappointing for a 5-6 year wait.) But I'm hoping it does really well.
