My goal on the internet is to make lower footprint, sustainable living feel a little less complicated, a bit more budget friendly and just a whole lot more NORMAL in a world that often glorifies the opposite!
If you're new here, I'm Kezia a 39 year old mum of 3 in West Sussex, UK trying to live a more sustainable, ethical, and budget friendly life, and make it simpler and more fun for other people too! Subscribers feel like friends and community all on the journey too, in our different ways with zero judgement and a good dose of real life! We're finding the joy in bucking the trends and norms of consumerism in favour or a more budget friendly and sustainable day to day life.
In my spare time I'm a full time chauffer to mini ballerinas, a bee keeper, a forgetful gardener who always feels behind on sowing seeds, and I'm also pretending I'm 18 again and putting my life onto the course I've wanted for a while and getting a degree in Psychology.
Welcome!

My kids BEGGED me to put more eggs in the incubator but I don't want more ducks - so here's a throwback to last years adrenaline filled rollercoaster hatching 6 duck eggs!
Everyone says not to help, but having done it, I don't think that's actually the best advice. Better advice I think would be: know WHEN to help them, and WHAT to do to do it well! And that was the story of this hatch where they all made it out alive! (But not without 3am ducking midwiffery!)

I LOVE hearing all of you who are baking bread and loving it! I do really think as prices of food go up, baking your own bread can both save money but ALSO can provide some beautiful joy in a potentially more frugal food line up! These recipes are in our meal plan most weeks (EVERY Saturday night is pizza night!) and having one simple recipe that can make so many things makes it feel simple to make them all happen!

This week we're bringing a little peace and strategy to all the headlines about food costs rising! We're looking at exactly what's predicted and the top ways we're strategising to stay on budget, even as costs rise!
I know those kinds of headlines (and the unknown) can bring anxiety - and just budget difficulty - so hopefully this gives you some ideas that make you feel more powerful and in control as numbers change! x

This is a video I have wanted to make for the longest time because we show these recipes every time we show what we ate in a week!
This is the easy bread recipe that makes pretty much every bread product we eat from pizza to sandwich bread, two flatbreads, two chocolate breakfast rolls burger buns, hotdog rolls all the things! And it’s a really simple flexible and forgiving one to make.
I think baking your own bread is such a great way to start being more budget friendly in the kitchen because it saves money but it also brings so much joy without spending a lot of money!
Goes live in 30 minutes: B R E A D : One simple bread recipe, SO many easy things to bake with it!

Today's episode goes live as 12 noon GMT / 8am EST and I'm taking a deep dive into why I've had to say a costly "no" to all the invisible, behind the scenes AI in content creation.
It shocks me how much AI is being used without any conversation or regulation of the adverse affects of it and therefore, the environmental toll of our social media feeds... so we're diving in!
This is a ZERO judgement episode - I find a huge number of people have no idea the ways AI is used and the impact, and my goal isn't to say what's right or wrong for anyone other than me. And to let you into why this is the only moral choice I can make. My goal is just to shine a light on this evolving world and the role it plays in content creation, and the environment!

It's been a drama full week in the garden, and it's officially the start of growing season here in West Sussex! I filmed a vlog that involves me swimming in the "lake" in the dark, a deer rescue, and a tour around our neglected Winter garden! But we're talking about the plans for the year, and my non "homestead aesthetic" approach to managing this space.
**This is a re-upload from this morning. The sound and music got way off in editing so I deleted it and wanted all the music and voiceovers in the right place. Sorry to the few hundred people that got clashing voiceovers before I realised!!

If you're one of the people who asked for more vlog style videos after Vlogmas... there's a new one going up at 12pm (7am EST) today. A day of budget friendly and sustainable routines (and ducks, and so much flooding and what we ate in a day) that keep us on our new student budget while being a little bit more sustainable. Hope you enjoy it!

I can’t believe that we’re starting 2026 with eleven thousand friends here along for the ride! I’m so deeply honoured (and a bit humbled!) that our life is helpful and enjoyable to watch - but I love getting to share it with you all here and hopefully help make small changes feel more possible and worth it! ❤️ We’ve made it home from Austin and I posted a vlog of the journey and some thoughts as we settle back into home life.
So looking forward to 2026 with you all!

I loved this outfit so much! 🪩 I’m not remotely extra in every day life so I wanted to lean in! And it was a 100% charity shop outfit down to my bra which made me SO happy.
.
Such a big part of loving something, and style for me, is the story behind it. I can’t love an outfit just cos of how it looks, if its story might involve forced labour, polluting another woman’s water, or stealing designs from a small business. I can’t feel stylish in something l’ve shown consumer demand for, that will sit in landfill forever, hurting communities around it.
.
And honestly party wear is one of the worst for the environment- so many little bits of plastic, sequins, glitter, polyester.
.
So how can we do it well? For me: charity shops. Taking what’s already in circulation. Not showing and creating a demand for new items, not asking for more plastic - but using what’s already there and passing it on well. That’s what makes me feel amazing in clothes, that’s style to me.
Also, I need a bit more extra in my every day. Right?! 🪩
