My heart has been hurting for this country for a long time now. I, like many of you all, am fighting many difficult personal battles at the same time and the deteriorating country is something I don’t even have time to wrap my head around.

It’s depressing, scary, and makes me fearful for my and my children’s future in this country. I don’t have anything insightful or inspirational to say right now—this is just heavy on my heart.

I hope you are all doing well. I love my community, my online family, and I hope your families are coping as well as you can in this environment. It’s hard to be inspired to create content around beauty, when the world feels like it’s become so ugly. Midterms cannot come soon enough. 💔

Guys! There is a fake profile that is imitating me, going around saying that “you’ve won a prize” and to send them info via Telegram!

🚫 THIS IS NOT ME! 🚫

I do not have a Telegram, nor would I EVER reach out to anyone via Telegram or ANY encrypted messaging app! Please DO NOT send your information to ANYONE randomly asking you for it online! EVER.

1. I DO NOT do personal giveaways. I used to back in the day when the internet was safer… then scammers started imitating me and I stopped.

2. IF Melanin Haircare DOES have a giveaway (we sometimes do…) it will ONLY be posted on our OFFICIAL social media accounts, NOT via a personal random message or comment.

AND, you would NEVER be a winner of a giveaway unless you ENTERED said giveaway posted on our official Instagram channel. In that case, Melanin Haircare would contact you via DM from our OFFICIAL page…. So in conclusion, if:

a) a giveaway is not posted on Melanin Haircare Official Instagram page

b) you never entered a giveaway posted on Melanin Haircare Official Instagram Page

c) you are contacted randomly via a comment or message by a page that:
- has incorrect spelling of the Creator’s Screen Name
- is a recently opened channel with no content
- is saying you won a prize when you know you did not enter a giveaway…

IT IS A SCAM!! PLEASE do not send them your personal information, DELETE and BLOCK them!
