This one grew out of a really good question from the Help Wanted chat thread about holding yarn double for a sweater and whether doubled yarn still behaves like itself or starts acting like a totally different yarn.

So I used that question as a jumping off point to talk through what actually changes, what stays the same, and how I’d think about those swatches in real life when choosing yarn for a garment.

And by “some of you” it could be…like…nobody. But since I am working on it and it is “late”, I am probably just projecting my own anxiety about it. 😂😅🫣☠️

But yes. It is coming. I just want to tweak some things before I film it and I also want to dig a little deeper into the microplastics question…

Also…it’s spring break for us and we’re doing some fun this ‘n’ that with the boys so I’m taking a tiny break for the next couple of days.

There’s fresh yarn on several different bases while I wait for the next batch of Nevada Merino Rambouillet to come in later this spring, including some Wuthering Heights inspired colorways on a gorgeous alpaca, merino, and silk base.

Also, Branden and I are officially introducing FFTP socks (a hearty blend of Merino and Nylon), which has been such a fun new direction for us. They’re lightweight, cozy, one of a kind, and very much the beginning of a new little side quest.

After finishing Wuthering Heights, I recorded a quiet knit-with-me video where I talk about my experience reading it (as a voice over) while I sit with one of my 20 minute candles and work on my knitting. It’s not a formal review or analysis, but rather a calm, reflective stream of consciousness about the book and what it felt like to read it for the first time.
