It’s been one year since I turned off my WhatsApp status read receipts.

I used to scroll religiously through my status views.

Wedding photos. Songs. Celebrations. Announcements.

Noticing who viewed but didn’t comment. Who didn’t celebrate. Who quietly watched but never engaged.

I was keeping score without realizing I was keeping score.

Over time, I realized something important:

Not everyone will cheer you on, and that’s okay.

I don’t want to spend my life monitoring people I know, wondering why they didn’t post me, comment, or show up for me.

At some point, you have to leave people alone. 😂

They are allowed to have their own lives, interests, priorities and preferences.

And I am allowed to keep going.

There is an audience for everyone.

God did not take time to bless you with gifts and talents for the whole world to see, only for you to spend your life monitoring your village people and classmates who didn’t comment or repost you.

Sometimes, that is simply shortsightedness.

He did not send you only to the people who already know you.

He sent you beyond your familiar circle.

Nations will come to the brightness of your light.

NATIONS!

NATIONS!

So why am I counting the people who already know me?

Why am I measuring the size of my assignment by the people who didn’t show up?

I can celebrate you without keeping score.

I can support you without expecting you to support me back.

I can show up, tell my stories, post my work, promote what I do and let myself be seen

without constantly checking whether everybody approved.

And honestly, that’s freedom.

To everyone who has been there for me, personally and virtually, thank you.

You are truly a treasure and I love you.❤️

Celebrating Mama Carol ❤️🎂

Today, I celebrate a woman whose heart speaks louder than words.

Mama Carol is a beautiful example of kindness, generosity, wisdom and genuine love. There is a warmth about her that makes people feel seen, encouraged and valued. Her spirit of giving and her willingness to stand in the gap for others is something truly admirable.

Some people become important in our lives not because of how long we have known them, but because of the impact of their heart.
