🖤 Lee Joon Gi’s familiar face… and a new side we have never seen before

✨ Lee Joon Gi returning to the historical genre, but this time viewers will meet a completely different side of the actor.

For many years, we have seen Lee Joon Gi as heroes — characters with a sharp gaze, incredible skills, and a strong sense of justice. His roles have been filled with pain, loss, and difficult choices, yet they always remained stories about people who protect others.

⚔️ These performances made him one of the most recognizable actors in historical dramas: unforgettable action scenes, deep emotions, and characters that stay in the hearts of viewers.

But «DOCHABI» promises to change the way we see him.

👑 In the new project, Lee Joon Gi will portray Lee Do Gwan (이도관), a powerful military commander — a character standing on the opposite side of the roles we usually associate with him.

And that is exactly what makes this role so intriguing.

🤔 What happens when a familiar face becomes the face of someone we should fear rather than protect?

Of course, no one doubts that Lee Joon Gi will once again showcase his incredible action skills. But the true excitement of «DOCHABI» lies beyond the action.

✨ Can he break our expectations and make us see a completely different person behind the face we already know?

🖤 The title «DOCHABI» is connected to Korean folklore. A dokkaebi is not simply a monster from legends. It is a mysterious being that can be both frightening and fascinating, reflecting human desires, fears, and weaknesses.

⛰️ Mysterious mountains, unknown creatures, hunting, and folklore elements will come together in this new story, directed by Ahn Tae Jin, a filmmaker known for creating tense and atmospheric works.

✨ Perhaps the biggest question of «DOCHABI» will be:

Where does the line between a human and a monster begin?

And at the center of this story will be Lee Joon Gi — with the face we know… but with an image we have never seen before.

We are looking forward to discovering a new side of Lee Joon Gi’s talent in «DOCHABI» ✨

✨ 14 YEARS OF “ARANG AND THE MAGISTRATE” ✨

“Arang and the Magistrate” premiered on August 15, 2012. Blending mystery, Korean folklore, playful comedy, and a poignant love story that defies the boundaries between life and death, the drama still holds a special place in the hearts of viewers. 🖤

The role of Kim Eun-oh was particularly meaningful for Lee Joon Gi, as it marked his return to television after completing his military service. Eun-oh is a young aristocrat who can see ghosts—a gift he considers more of a curse. Cold, sharp-tongued, and consumed by the search for his missing mother, he has little interest in anyone else’s troubles.

Everything changes when Arang, a fearless and spirited ghost with no memory of her death, bursts into his life. Their reluctant alliance gradually becomes something deeper, even though a love between a living man and a ghost seems to have no future. 💔

Lee Joon Gi portrays Eun-oh’s transformation with remarkable subtlety. Behind his sarcasm and apparent indifference lie loneliness, vulnerability, and a deep fear of loss. Step by step, Eun-oh learns to trust, care for others, and stop living only in the past.

Amid ghosts, soul reapers, heavenly deities, and long-buried secrets, “Arang and the Magistrate” tells a deeply human story: even the briefest encounter can change an entire life—and sometimes love is stronger than death itself. 🖤

💖📸 Admiring Lee Joon Gi on the pages of the Japanese fan club SPLENDOR photobook “2025. Lee Joon Gi’s Most Ordinary Days” in Osaka 🇯🇵🍇

Some people are simply loved by the camera. But with Lee Joon Gi, it feels like something more: as though he is the one making the camera admire him.

There are no elaborate looks or deliberate poses here — only a glance, a slight turn of the head, a barely noticeable smile. Each photograph has its own captivating charm, revealing his familiar features from a subtly different angle.

We could talk endlessly about lighting, composition and the photographer’s skill, but the truth is much simpler: Lee Joon Gi’s beauty needs no special scenery. 🧡

🔥🎬 LEE JOON GI OFFICIALLY JOINS NETFLIX’S «DOCHABI»!

It’s finally official! Netflix has confirmed the production of the new period action film «Dochabi» (working title) and announced its main cast: Kim Do-hoon, Jun Jong-seo, Lee Joon-gi, Lee Sang-yi and Bae In-hyuk.

🖤 Lee Joon Gi takes on the role of Yi Do-gwan, the commander of a border region — a charismatic and sharp man with a deep hunger for power.

⚔️ «Dochabi» follows Tae-san (Kim Do-hoon), a former soldier who lives in hiding deep in the mountains with Ahai (Jun Jong-seo), a Jurchen woman, near the borderlands where farmers have formed settlements.

When Yi Do-gwan begins hunting these settlers while hiding his identity behind a mask, Tae-san fights back. Soon, he becomes entangled in a mysterious conspiracy and is framed as the leader of the invaders.

Forced into a desperate struggle for survival, Tae-san lives «like a monster» and fights «like a ghost», eventually becoming known as «Dochabi» — the mysterious figure who protects the people.

🔥 Jun Jong-seo plays Ahai, whose exceptional agility and martial skills make her a formidable fighter alongside Tae-san.

Lee Sang-yi stars as Park Se-ryong, an inspector investigating rumors about masked figures appearing in the north. His suspicions soon turn toward Yi Do-gwan.

Bae In-hyuk joins the cast as Crown Prince Yeolhwagun, a prince with a strong sense of responsibility and compassion for people suffering at the hands of invaders.

🎥 «Dochabi» is directed by An Tae-jin, director of «The Night Owl», and written by Hwang Sung-gu, Bang Soo-in and An Tae-jin. The film is produced by Ondaworks.

The title «Dochabi» comes from the native Korean word for dokkaebi, the legendary supernatural beings of Korean folklore — and becomes the name given to Tae-san as his story grows into a legend.

And for us, there is one particularly exciting reason to wait for this film: Lee Joon Gi is finally stepping into the role of a true antagonist. A historical setting, intense action, masks, ambition, power — and Lee Joon Gi on the darker side of the story. 🖤🔥

«Dochabi» is coming exclusively to Netflix.

🎬 Symphony of Devotion: Lee Joon Gi in the Elegy “Never Said Goodbye”

Cinema often speaks of love, but rarely portrays it as something so absolute and selfless. In “Never Said Goodbye,” Lee Joon Gi gives us more than a story of parting — he creates a moving portrait of devotion.

🌿 His character, Korean student Jun Ho, falls in love with Xiao You, played by Zhou Dongyu. Their relationship blossoms between two cultures, amid the colors of Shanghai and beneath the skies of Sicily. From the very beginning, Lee Joon Gi fills Jun Ho with youthful sincerity and a rare tenderness that makes his love feel utterly genuine.

💔 When tragedy enters the story, another side of his acting emerges. After learning that he is terminally ill, Jun Ho chooses to “disappear” from Xiao You’s life, hoping to spare her the pain of losing him. Lee Joon Gi avoids excessive drama, expressing grief through restraint, silence and, above all, his eyes — where fear, pain and endless concern for the woman he loves exist at once.

🌙 Jun Ho continues to watch over Xiao You from the shadows, quietly protecting her and trying to make sure she can go on living after he is gone. Lee Joon Gi makes us feel every painful choice his character makes, even when Jun Ho remains unseen.

✨ By the final scenes, “Never Said Goodbye” becomes more than a title. Jun Ho’s love continues to live on — in memories, familiar things, and in Xiao You’s life itself.

🕊 Lee Joon Gi creates a fragile yet remarkably complete portrait of a man whose love proves stronger than his fear of death. His performance is woven from tenderness, pain and hope — even when everything seems already lost.

THE RIGHT TO BE A FATHER

🏃 “Two Weeks” uses a familiar fugitive plot: a false accusation, pursuit and danger. But the chase does not merely drive the action — it changes the hero step by step.

At first, Jang Tae San is hard to like. He drifts through life and has given up on himself. We judge him, then gradually see the love, fear and costly attempt to protect the woman he loved beneath his apathy.

🩺 Learning about Soo Jin does not instantly transform Tae San. It leaves him nowhere else to hide from himself. His daughter needs a bone marrow transplant, and he is her only match. With two weeks left, he is framed for murder. After a cellmate tries to kill him, escape becomes his only chance to survive until the operation — while a hired assassin hunts him.

🤍 Yet the most heartbreaking scenes are not the chases or fights, but Tae San’s imagined conversations with the daughter he has barely met. Almost by instinct, he tries to be her father — not a perfect one, just someone who wants his little girl to wait for him.

🎬 This was Lee Joon Gi’s first role as a father. Initially hesitant, he was persuaded by writer So Hyun Kyung, who saw a chance to take him beyond his familiar range. Three months of running, fighting, water and mud were grueling, but tracing Tae San’s journey from fear to despair and resolve was harder still.

Lee Joon Gi does not make Tae San impressive from the start. He lets him be lost, cornered and even unlikable, then gradually reveals a man capable of love, courage and perseverance. His transformation is born in every choice he makes.

In the finale, the past is not erased and a new life does not fall neatly into place. But when Soo Jin calls, “Dad,” Tae San turns around. There is more hope in that one movement than in any flawless happy ending.

Thirteen years later, “Two Weeks” remains not only a gripping action drama, but one of Lee Joon Gi’s most powerful and deeply human performances.
