3D Printer VFAs - They're EVERYWHERE, but do you know what causes them? The answer is more complicated than you might think. Seeing modern printers from Bambu and Prusa suffering badly from this age old issue, I decided to do a deep dive into the topic.
The algorithm giveth and the algorithm taketh away. Latest video is a massive flop so far. Too bad because I put a lot of effort into making it. In case it didn't' come across your feed - watch me go from zero to hero, learning to operate a CNC - if nothing else, it has some good tunes and some nice visuals :). If you did or didn't watch it, feedback is always appreciated so I can make content that better aligns with what my audience enjoys.
After a rough start with a DOA printer, I'm glad to finally be able to share my Snapmaker U1 experience. I tested a variety of material combinations and printing scenarios, which I hope you'll find useful.
Great commentary by @CanuckCreator on the potential shortcomings of the Bambu H2C. In short: Likely requires 2x AMS units to operate and will still need to wait for load/unload operations - significantly less efficient than a tool changer or INDX.
Well then… looks like the heat just got turned up in the 3D printing industry. I think we all expected this at some point… but not now and all at once.
What are you most excited about? Snapmaker U1, Bambu H2C, or Prusa Core One Toolchanger?
Here's a crazy stat for you.... Snapmaker has raised more in 24 hours for the U1 on Kickstarter ($8,294,201 USD) than Bambu did for the entire X1C campaign ($7,036,740 USD).
What's the difference? Proven company v.s. unknown entity? More hype for a tool changer? Or just more people in the hobby? Curious to hear your thoughts... 🤔
Too many toys… too little time. Poor timing by Qidi to release this a day after the Snapmaker U1. Embargo lifts tomorrow. Needless to say I won’t have a video ready. Printer is still in the box. Let me know what you’d like to know about it when I get to testing.
The 3D printing community never ceases to amaze me. Just got off a call with Steve of Team 7. They’re a group that volunteers their time to beta test 3D printers so you don’t have to. We need more of this and fewer half-baked, untested products in the hands of customers.
