For many years, our sanctuary has been a place of worship, laughter,
and life-changing moments. However, time has taken its toll on our
space, and new needs have emerged as we continue to grow as a
community . Thanks to a generous memorial gift, we are now able to
make updates and refresh our worship space. These improvements will
allow for a more flexible and expanded chancel area, including an altar
table that is lighter but retains our current design, and a finished choir loft
to replace our existing risers.

A team is working with architect and longtime supporter of St. Andrew,
David Cooper, who also designed our current chapel space. David has
been intentional to reflect the values and aesthetics of our community in
discerning with us what a new space might look like. As you know,
projects like this take time, patience, and a lot of grace. We anticipate
that we will be unable to worship in the sanctuary for five weeks. The
good news is that Fellowship Hall, our previous sanctuary and worship
space, can be adapted to use as an alternative worship space during this
brief time of construction. The team is working and planning now to
continue to provide a rich and diverse worship experience in person and
online during these few weeks.

Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 30 with substantial
completion by August 6. Our Production and Communications team will update
you along the way about our timeline and provide you with some behind
the scenes sneak peeks of what’s to come.

We look forward to creating many more memories together as a
community in this space for years to come.

Honoring the legacy of Rev. Dr. Harvey Martz and Judy Martz. This project transformed a temporary film into a permanent, beautiful piece of art, enhancing the worship space with a spectrum of colors. Led by interior designer Colleen, the design incorporates liturgical colors and addresses practical issues like light and traffic visibility. Overcoming challenges through flexibility and collaboration, this stained glass window stands as a testament to the faith, dedication, and community spirit of the Martz family. Reflect on your own contributions to your community and faith as you learn about this meaningful endeavor.

Explore the transformative power of chosen suffering, inspired by Jesus' crucifixion and Martin Luther King Jr.'s principles of nonviolent action. This concept challenges us to endure suffering for justice, love, and core values. Jesus' crucifixion was a conscious choice to suffer injustice and violence, unmasking the evil in the world and providing a path to redemption. Martin Luther King Jr. believed that enduring suffering could lead to the enemy's redemption, bringing about change. Reflect on areas in your life where you might need to choose suffering for a greater cause and embrace it as a path to transformation and redemption.
