New England Railfanner is a railfanning channel based in Vermont. The states I primarily film in are Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Over the years, I have filmed mostly Amtrak, MBTA, & New England Central freight trains. On my newer videos (since December 2023), I have been using a speed radar to clock how fast most trains I have seen go. I have liked trains since 2013 and have been filming them since 2015. I decided to create a YouTube channel on August 9, 2024 to post my videos that I have filmed.

I saw something CRAZY at White River Junction Vermont today (January 2, 2026). There was a hopper car that had it's front-trucks come off the rails on a switch track. The train consist was two hopper cars, GP40-2 #437, and GP40-2LW #3039. The car in-question that derailed was CLSX 5452 which derailed on a switch. The rail next to it popped out of its ties causing it to raise a few inches off the ground. Here is a photo:

Hey gng, I just got back from an AMAZING trip to Woburn/Anderson RTC. Even though 1637 was not operating, I still had a great time (despite it being cold and windy).

This morning, I found out that New England Central Railroad GP40-2 #437 is the unit I have seen the most.
I have seen the 437 a total of 46 TIMES (as of December 6, 2025) between 2016 and now.
Railfans, I have a question for you:
What is the one locomotive/coach/cab-car you have seen the absolute most? Tell me in the comment section the locomotive/coach/cab-car type, number, and how many total times you have seen it when you reply, not from the day I made this post.

I got a disappointing update:
CTC-1B #1637 is sadly not operating on the polar express trains. According to @SamMBTATrains , 1804 was spotted deadheading on the polar express extra this night.
I guess 2024 was the final time a CTC-1B operated...

I just found out that MBTA CTC-1B #1637 is CONFIRMED to be operating on MBTA's 2025 Polar Express trains!!
The schedule it operates is listed below:
December 6: IC Polar Express, goes from Newburyport to Ipswich, MA. The train times are 9:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:15 pm, 3:15 pm, and 5:30 pm leaving Newburyport.
December 13: St. Augustine School North Pole Express, from Woburn/Anderson RTC at 12, 2, 4, and 6 pm to Boston North Station.
December 14: Joly Jingle Express, from Woburn/Anderson RTC at 12, 2, 4, and 6 pm to Boston North Station.
I may be at Woburn/Anderson to see the holiday train on the 13th.
