THORN IN PARADISE - out now wahhh! 💃🏾 🕺🏼

Honestly, regardless of whether only 3 people ever heard the song, this is MOMENTOUS for me. I haven't released any music in 7 years and to be honest I didn't know if I would again.

For me this is a lesson in letting go - rather than holding, tight fisted, anxiety ridden to work that I've created - waiting for the "right moment," this is a true RELEASE.

From my brain to your ears and eyes, this is your song now. Do with it what you will, I know I'm about to have it on repeat because today is the first day it's not just another song on my hardrive, IT'S OUT!!

THE LAST SHOW I EVER PLAYED - BEFORE I QUIT MUSIC.

This is the last show I played. I headline show at London's Omeara, one of my favourite venues.

I remember turning up on the night, walking out on stage, seeing the room packed and thinking, "what on earth is going on." It was a surreal moment, and in many ways as I heard the audience sing my lead single "Like Summer" back to me at the top of their lungs, it almost felt too good to be true.

Fast forward 6 years and I can't believe I haven't stepped on stage since then, playing live was everything to me. Watching myself again, seeing how in my element I was, it's a reminder that this is what I was born to do.

I'm so excited to be coming back.

Get ready.

Over the last week I've been posting a new little series where I play piano and talk about things that I've observed and have been thinking about. I started off with 'THE HAPPINESS TAX', then 'VICTIM MENTALITY' and the latest is "REAL LIFE"....

We talk about "Real Life" like it's a place you have to return to. There seems to be a general consensus that holidays = relaxed and happy, whereas work = stress and anxiety, that a tropical island is running away, but a dark, rainy street is "Real Life".

I've always wondered why that is. It's especially interesting because it extends beyond these examples into so much of our lives...Where "childish emotions" like giddiness, infatuation, hope are perceived as naive and undesirable.

Did we start associating all of the heavy things and feelings with being "grown up", and adult?

When did this happen? How do you feel about it?
