Hey y’all! Long time no chat :)

We’ve been taking a month off in May to spend time with the moms and dads. We also had an opportunity to meet new artists and connect with other labels to share knowledge about the art world. During that whole process I noticed that we were never explicit about what we do internally, so decided to share some insights with you guys x

1️⃣Since our inception we have worked to curate the best visually-inspired music for our listeners. To that end, we don't follow trends, we don’t discriminate on the basis of genre, and we won't write off undiscovered artists. We are extremely proud of all our artists for pursuing their artistic goals.

2️⃣ With that, we are putting a lot of attention to every release, making sure the visual aspect corresponds to artist’s project vision. We don’t take artworks from royalty-free sites, nor do we license pre-existing art for our releases. When artists release with us, their artwork is unique to their music.

3️⃣ We know how important it is for musicians to make money off music, therefore we try our best to strip out the unnecessary fees that the artists would otherwise pay. We are choosing distributors that aren’t taking a % share of a release, instead, we are paying a flat fee so our artists wouldn’t have to. We are covering most in-house work, such as visualizers, promo materials, track masters etc. at no cost for an artist. We value independency and exposure, thus we do not exclusively sign artists, nor do we offer our contracts on perpetuity.

4️⃣ We are always trying to find different ways to serve our community, whether it is directly supporting an urgent cause (such as Team Trees efforts, or BLM movement), or by sharing our art with creators or companies seeking to find a perfect soundtrack for their content. We’ve shared our songs with PBS, Busboy Productions, the MetaGame Smash Documentary, and endless YouTube/Twitch creators who use our releases royalty free. Even though we run Content ID for security reasons, we whitelist the videos sent to us so the creators can spread the word of art.

Hey friends!

Recently we’ve released Elv’s “Worlds Below” EP - a cinematic journey filled with whimsical, fantasy atmospheres and lush ambient elements.

“Worlds Below explores the transition from life to death, and whatever follows through a journey into the deep sea, represented in sound. Each of the first three tracks symbolize a different, descending level of this imaginary ocean landscape, while the fourth opens a gate from the black bottom to new, unknown shores.”

Hey y'all! Hope you’re having great holidays and not forgetting to go to sleep on time:) The whole Dad team is definitely soaking in the holidays, but decided to take a moment to reflect on this past year and say a couple of words. No one could do it better than our British Dad Rob (aka Kori), the handsomest, cutest, most supportive of all them dads.

“Thinking of what mattered the most in 2020, it's tempting to say something like "togetherness" or "family", as both of those things have undoubtedly been of heightened importance this year.

Personally though, I think this year the most important thing has been for everyone to try to find a way to stay happy with themselves and the way they are living their lives.

It's been a big struggle for me to stay motivated in both music and uni work, and I know a lot of people I've spoken to have been feeling the same. It's important that people don't blame themselves for not achieving what they wanted to this year, and to instead take pride in that which they have accomplished.

During 2020 I’ve taken a bit of a sideline this year in terms of management roles, but it's given me an opportunity to watch the label from the outside, and what I've seen has been awesome. Arkana's "Iskatallith" LP, Hollow’s “Calamity” EP, Caster’s multi-genre singles… All of those were definitely highlights for the label, and I know that the collective has a lot more plans for New Dawn moving forward.

I think what I'm most looking forward to is seeing some of these plans being put into action, and seeing people's reactions to them! (Also it would be ideal if I could get my EP finished in time for a 2021 release with NDC).”

Over the past few months, we've been slowly releasing singles from Arkana's debut album Iskatallith. Today, the whole album is out. This is what Arkana says about it:

"TODAY IS THE DAY. My album, Iskatallith is finally released in full. I'm very emotional about it, and don't have enough words to describe them accurately. I know you've probably heard it from many aritsts, but I truly put my entire soul into this album. I pushed myself above and beyond to make this reality. Now I can finally let go of it, and move on to hopefully even more ambitious projects haha.

Thanks to everyone who has been involved in this project. The New Dawn Collective team, concept artists (chandler, Felix, and Anthony) my parents, my wife, friends, and many more. Such a massive project wouldn't be possible without a good team.

Please share this with the world. I leave my hopes, dreams, and aspirations with you now.

DREAMOIR is back! Teaming up with his friend S1LVA, they've created a masterpiece of cinematic melodic dubstep, called "Whispers".

Whispers follows the story of Clara, a young woman banished from her home in Wymeria. Forced to survive as an outcast, she barely makes a living as a hunter until a mysterious hooded figure in a white mask reveals her purpose. The knowledge of her true identity places her on an epic journey through toxic forests and ancient ruins to find a way to unlock her inner power. Her endgame? To find the Architect responsible for ruining her life, and make sure he atones for his sins...permanently. The journey is one of self-realization, psychological struggle, and violent encounters.
