So I know I have been gone for a while (for a change), but I have been on a freaking roller coaster ride of emergency vet appointments because my precious Princess Chub got sick and was diagnosed with THE biggest liver tumor known to catkind. Although the vets suspected that the tumor was benign, it was so large that they thought they wouldn't be able to operate, but the surgeon at the VCA decided to give it a shot and she was finally well enough to come home last night! Honestly one of the best days ever and Chubs is such a trooper, if you want to see the absolute monster blob that was taken out of her abdomen, the very last photo is a snapshot of her CT scan and the darker gray blob toward the top center-left is the tumor, I cannot believe that my tiny 15 year old baby actually endured all of this and is already trying to jump back into bed et cetera!
Hey y'all! So life has been kind of a flop for the past few weeks, and I have been working on HotD/ASOIAF content verrry slowly because the end of HotD was not the most hype, but since the Dune series just started, I figured I'd post my reactions to it because it's easy and I want to, so that should be coming in the next day or two.
And in other news, if you caught my last few community posts then you know I lost my precious cat, Snuggles, after 15 great years together. My two cats have been together for literally their entire lives, we adopted them as kittens together, so it was a foregone conclusion that another cat would be adopted. I went into it in the mindset that the right cat would appear, and when it did, I'd know it. And that's when I found Alicent!
And no, I actually did not name my new cat Alicent, I was searching for kittens on PetFinder as one does, and suddenly there was a very obviously not-kitten cat named Alicent in the search results. So understandably I was like WTF what are the chances that a cat named Alicent would be mis-labeled as a kitten, if I'm looking for a sign then signs have been spotted! So I went and abducted her and she is very shy but very sweet. She enjoys high places and laser pointers, and she has excellent control of her tail torque.
Okay, memorial picture spam of Snuggles the cat part 2!
Here we have:
1. Snuggles in her perfect circular form.
2. A side profile shot of her refusing to get off of her favorite corner of the bed on laundry day.
3. Snuggles cuddling with her forever best friend Chubs on my bed.
4. Snuggles next to my work chair giving me the cutesy look that tells me she's about to jump into my lap.
5. Snuggles on the left armrest of said work chair, because A. she liked to chill on the armrest after getting out of my lap, B. she could actually squeeze herself onto the armrest successfully, and C. because she only ever went onto the left armrest, never the right. She was a very strange and unusual cat.
Hi guys. I know I kind of vanished into thin air after the conclusion of HotD's second season, but Snuggles, one of my cats, unfortunately got really, abruptly sick a few weeks ago, so all of my attention was focused there. At 2 o'clock this morning, she died, and obviously I'm gutted but also just so glad that I got to spend 15 years with the cutest little weirdo on god's green earth. I'm defo going to do another post memorializing this goober, but I figured everyone loves cat pictures so why not do a photo dump or two. These snaps are:
1. Snuggles on my old bed in my old apartment just looking absurdly cute. 2. Her tiny little head in a cone after surgery. She was always a freakishly small cat so whenever she walked in a cone her head bobbed up and down and it was adorable. Also after this surgery she hid in my closet because she loved hiding in small spaces and she wound up getting stuck because her head circumference was suddenly 3x its normal size. 3. Her flopping upside down so I can violently pet her. She was not originally named Snuggles but became Snuggles because she loved getting petted like she was going through an automated car wash. 4. Her looking like a mfing goblin with her foot literally not even a millimeter away from her sister's eyeball. Neither of them felt the need to move from this position. 5. Me finally finding Snuggles in a bathroom cupboard when we moved to a different apartment, she found the tiniest and darkest place to hide, and I spent more than an hour looking for her. For those of you who have never had a black cat, their camouflage is borderline magical, they're basically impossible to see if they don't have their eyes open.
Q&A time! Now that House of the Dragon has wrapped up season 2, I figure we can do a bit of a pre-recorded question and answer sesh. If there is anything you're curious about that I didn't cover in my reactions or my videos about HotD season 2, or if you just have random questions about the world of ice and fire (or honestly, anything in general) that you want to chat about, drop them in the comments below, and if I have anything interesting to say I'll talk about it in a Q&A video.
She has yet to make her formal debut on the channel, but here is my other cat, Chubs AKA Princess Chunkybutt, discovering that she can now reach my desk from my bed.
Had another chat with @bytemarx8520 arguing about who is the most mediocre, average, middle-of-the-road dad in Westeros. My picks were one of my fairly obvious choices along with kind of a wild card!
Probably going to be going on a live chat discussing characters that people tend to project onto on @MeeraReads channel featuring @RustFShackleton around 8:30pm EST or a tad later if y'all want to join!
