Clearly English: Listen and Learn

Hi friends!
One of the most common English questions is: “How was your weekend?”
But many learners only answer: “Good.”
That’s okay — but you can say a little more and make the conversation feel natural.

Try these simple answers:
- It was relaxing. I stayed home and caught up on sleep.
- It was pretty busy. I ran some errands and did some laundry.
- It was really nice. I spent time with my family.
- Nothing special. I just stayed home and watched a movie.

Now you try 👇
Answer this question in the comments: "How was your weekend?"
You can use this pattern:
It was ________. I ________.

Example:
It was relaxing. I stayed home and watched a show.

Small talk builds big connections. Keep practicing!

Clearly English: Listen and Learn

Do you ever stop yourself from speaking English because you’re worried about grammar?
Here’s your reminder today:
- You do not need perfect grammar to communicate.
- You need a clear message, simple patterns, and the courage to speak.

Try one of these simple sentence patterns:
- I want to…
- I need to…
- I’m going to…
- I like…
- I have to…

Example:
- I want to practice English today.
- I need to speak more.
- I’m going to try, even if I make mistakes.

Now you try 👇
Write one simple English sentence in the comments using:
I want to…
Remember: grammar improves through speaking, not silence. 🌱

But you do not need to understand every word!

In our new lesson, Emma and Alex practice 5 simple techniques to help you understand fast English:
- Listen for key words, not every word
- Learn common reductions like gonna, wanna, hafta, lemme
- Listen in short chunks
- Repeat and shadow short phrases
- Listen to the same clip multiple times with a different goal each time

Which technique do you want to practice first?
1. Key words
2. Reductions
3. Short chunks
4. Shadowing
5. Repeating the same clip

Write your answer in the comments 👇

And remember: fast English is not about talent. It is about training.

Clearly English: Listen and Learn

Hi friends! Here's a daily reminder: You do not need perfect English to speak.

Today, practice one simple sentence:

“I’m still learning, but I can explain it simply.”

Say it out loud 3 times.

Can you write one simple sentence about your day?
