Jharkhand ke ek chhote se gaon me 1875 me ek ladka paida hua… naam tha Birsa. Bilkul simple sa bachcha, par dimag se bahot tez aur dil se bahot strong.
Bachpan se hi usne dekha ki unke gaon ke adivasi log apni hi zameen par paraye ho gaye the. Angrez unki zameen chhin lete, unse zabardasti tax vasool karte — aur log majboori me chup rehte. Birsa ko ye sab bilkul pasand nahi tha.
Jaise-jaise Birsa bada hua, log usse “Dharti Abaa” kehne lage — matlab, dharti ka pita — kyunki Birsa kehta tha:
“Zameen hamari maa hai, ise koi humse cheen nahi sakta.”
Phir ek din Birsa ne decide kiya ki bas, ab aur nahi.
Usne saare adivasi logon ko ekta me joda aur bola:
“Hum apni dharti, apna jungle aur apna adhikar wapas lenge!”
Birsa ne angrezon ke khilaaf ek bada andolan shuru kiya — “Ulgulan”, jiska matlab hota hai maha-bagawat.
Sirf 25–26 saal ki umar me hi Birsa itna bada leader ban gaya ki angrez usse darne lage.
Unke liye Birsa ek aadmi nahi… ek poora kranti tha.
Aakhir angrezon ne use giraftar kar liya…
Aur 1900 me, sirf 25 saal ki umar me, Birsa Munda shaheed ho gaya.
