If I see one more person posting sympathies for Charlie Kirk, I’m going to lose it. Kirk spent his career spreading hateful rhetoric against victims of school shootings and the LGBTQ+ community. To say that his death in a shooting was fitting isn’t wrong, given what he has said.

To be clear: I do not endorse gun violence. But when you preach that children dying in school shootings is just the cost of the Second Amendment, this should be the consequence of your own rhetoric.

One quote:

“I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational.” 

That’s the sort of thing I mean — you can argue ideology, but you can’t then act surprised when people point out how dangerous that kind of speech is.

I will unfriend anyone who supports Charlie Kirk. I’ve already unfollowed friends and family over this. Do your research. Be a better ally. There is no excuse, in 2025, for being a Trump supporter or defending someone who speaks this kind of rhetoric.
