If you too are sick and tired of the current state of the entertainment industry, especially on the western side, you’ve come to the right channel! Don’t get too fooled by my name. Yes, I mostly talk about gaming news in my posts, but I complain about more than that too!

Alright, here is that very angry Zelda rant about the new Hyrule Warriors game I promised a couple days ago:
First of all, gameplay: while I would praise the variety of playable characters in the game, the combat itself is just too repetitive. It’s cool for like the first 5 hours or so, but then just like the story (which you already know if you’ve played TOTK) it becomes a slog. The reason for this and every other gameplay issue I have stems from one cause: THIS GAME IS TOO FUCKING EASY!!! When I started my playthrough, I selected normal difficulty for the most authentic experience. Normal! NOT Easy! Yet somehow, I think the game suspected that I meant to wind down effortlessly after playing Silksong before it, because this “normal” difficulty lead to this being the easiest game I’ve ever played! The gameplay is just mashing Y followed by X to use each of your moves to steamroll every enemy camp in your way. There is no jumping, very little dodging and very little movement or strategy. A fucking toddler could play this shit by just slapping his hand against the two buttons and not even looking at the screen! But if there is a bunch of action and enemies on the screen at all times, how could that possibly be too easy to deal with the entire time, you might ask. Well first of all, the enemies are as equally repetitive as the gameplay, so you learn to read their inputs rather quickly. Even boss fights have this issue where they play similarly to regular enemies just with larger health bars. Some bosses you even fight multiple times with the exact same movesets as before. Secondly, the damage output is more comical than Sonic 3 being snubbed from the Best Adaptation category at TGA! The Boss Bokoblins are giant pigs that are about the size of a mall! They carry clubs that are designed to fit their size, but apparently their clubs are softer than my dick when I watch a Marvel movie because they only do maybe 2 or 3 damage with each swing! The team of characters you play as have about 20 fucking hearts EACH which makes these bosses the smallest threats imaginable.
The other more significant reason the game is too easy is not just because of the enemies, but how much of a juggernaut you and your team are whether you like it or not! Here’s how a battle plays out in this game:
Once you’re about to stagger the big Bokoblin guy, he will come charging at you with an attack that you can counter so long as you have the correct charged attack reserved at that moment to stun him with. A lot of the time this happens, the game tells you to switch characters and then automatically does the strong attack for you without needing to put in the command! The attack itself also deal a huge amount of damage to the boss! Once you knock that fat fuck over with the attack, it doesn’t mean your turn is over! You then do a follow up move while he’s stunned, which takes a grand total of about half of the boss’ health now! Then the motherfucker finally gets back up on his 2 stubby feet and you have to knock him down a second time to finish him off. By this point, you and another character can perform a dual-attack move that takes almost all the rest of the boss’ health! The dual-attack moves typically consist of you and another character shooting a giant beam of light out of your hands and redirecting it to aim at the boss. However the Bokoblin is wide as a fucking barn, making it entirely impossible to miss him! You don’t even need to aim the damn light to begin with at all! Then the boss is finally dead and you repeat that about 5 to 10 more times for about 150 levels! The reason your team is so strong is because the game forces you to upgrade if your inventory runs out of weapon upgrade kits storage. By the end of the game I had almost every single Sage’s main weapon at max level, which I think proves that the game wasn’t designed to be as long as it actually was.
There are several other actions one can take in this game to prepare for battle, but you have to have the skills of a goldfish trying to climb a mountain to even consider using them. Some of the levels require you to defeat a certain number of enemies to claim back a base camp, which you can then use to boost some status effects during the rest of the level. You’re also allowed to do this before each level begins. I never even needed to use any of the items I collected though in order to prepare. The characters always say some dumb shit before each level begins like “we should ready ourselves before we depart” and I just think “No bitch, we’re more than prepared enough because this game offers no challenge!” I also never needed to heal in this game even once! At one point when I was about to get low on health, the game suggested that I should heal and I reacted like “wait… 20 hours in and you can heal in this game? Since when? Why?” Which I believe is a valid question. After almost every major boss you defeat, the game replenishes your health mid-level, making it completely pointless to heal before another boss fight!
As for the rest of the game, it’s okay if you haven’t experienced the story of TOTK before, especially since the Korok Calamo is a fun welcome addition to the crew. The pacing of the story is completely butchered though thanks to the amount of side missions the game expects you to do between each chapter. Worst of all is those lazy bastards over at the Zelda team reused so many cutscenes directly from TOTK! No additional camera angles, no new music, no rerecorded dialogue, it’s just the same damn cutscene! The game is also longer than the wait for GTA VI. Like I said, you realize how repetitive the combat is about 5 hours in, but you still have about 20 hours of the game left where you’re doing the exact same shit over and over again.
I’m very glad this cel shaded open-world slop era of Zelda is over. The only good Zelda we got during the Switch generation was Echoes of Wisdom. I really hope they come up with something new like that again now that this version of Hyrule has run its course. This era is the definition of MID!

That next console is gonna be $1200 MINIMUM at this point! These greedy, shitty assholes at Microsoft don’t care about you, the games, the hardware, NOTHING! All they want to do is milk as much cash out of their horrible consoles until the cow’s utters fall off for good. It’s time for Phil to step down!

Top 5 WORST games I’ve played this year (not counting remasters or upgrades)
1. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (2/10)
2. Drag x Drive (3/10)
3. Avowed (3/10)
4. Mario Kart World (4/10)
5. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (5/10)
Yes I finally finished Hyrule Warriors and man, did the game drop off a cliff in the last major chapter! I might upload a rant about that game later… Anyway, what would you guys say are the worst games you’ve played this year. Curious to see if anyone here bought the Switch 2 Welcome Tour or Lost Soul Aside lol

Holy shit! Kirby Air Riders is EASILY the best “racing” game released this year! I’ve spent over 6 hours in the game already and I plan to play more tonight. Man is it great to just play a game for what the series is known for without all the added bullshit like Mario Kart and Sonic Racing shoehorned in their games. The online runs surprisingly great too! The legend Sakurai has done it once again! So much passion from him went into this game! If you have a Switch 2, it’s a MUST BUY!!! 🌟🩷
