If you too are sick and tired of the current state of the entertainment industry, especially on the western side, you’ve come to the right channel! Don’t get too fooled by my name. Yes, I mostly talk about gaming news in my posts, but I complain about more than that too!

I've been debating on doing this for a while now and I think there is no better time than right now, but I'm going to essentially rebrand this channel next year. The final push was not just E33 winning GOTY, but that entire game awards show pretty much solidified that video games are no longer for me anymore.
That was 3 hours long and they didn't show a single game worth a damn in my opinion other than MAYBE the Mega man game, which is not even coming out until 2027. This was more than just the show being off topic like it usually is. If anything, I think this TGA was more about gaming than most of them in past years have been, which makes my decision even more solidified. There was no Sonic Frontiers 2, no GTA VI, not even a Half-Life 3 or Portal 3 announcement at this show! Honestly, talking about modern gaming is just getting tiresome in general regardless of what else they could've announced at this show. To say something positive about it, I did like a lot of the other winners they chose for the other categories. DK Bananza winning Best Family, Silksong winning Best Action / Adventure, and MoistCr1tikal winning Best Content Creator were all good choices! I just wish the premieres were more engaging as there still isn't really anything I'm looking forward to for next year.
I don't know what the future of this channel will hold, but I do know that I want it to be more video focused rather than me always relying on posts just because they're quick and easy. I'm thinking I may do some edits to shit that I actually enjoy regardless of its age. I'm not saying I'm completely down to make another 200 Sonic Movie edits like I did a few years ago, but something simpler and more fun that people will enjoy watching like that and, more importantly, that I'll also enjoy making! Only time will tell exactly what I will edit or talk about. I've got a couple ideas, but mostly we'll wing it from here, because this modern slop ain't it, chief!
I might still cover general gaming news in the community tab, but it will be far less opinion based and I definitely won't be talking about individual upcoming games anymore. If you decide to stick around, I can't express how much I appreciate it! I hope things on here will turn around in some other way. And if you don't care about me or my channel, I completely understand. Gaming is supposed to be something worth respecting and celebrating and I never ever thought the industry would get this bad for me. Its honestly soul-crushing! I usually have fun with my rants, but I can't bring myself to rant about everything since those "recap / rant / review" posts take so long to write. I don't always have enough dry humor sex jokes for them all the time either.
That's all. I hope you all have a great rest of your night and I also hope you enjoyed the premieres at TGA much more than I did! I may or may not see you on the road ahead, but thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read this post.
Thanks everyone and goodnight, Geoff

🎤 KPop Demon Hunters: Recap / Rant / Review (2/2) 👹
The rest of the movie leading up to the climax goes pretty much how you expect: The other 2 girls question their bandmate’s sanity and motivation as they all write a song about how much they hate demons. Obviously the main girl suggests to change the lyrics and this conflict just goes on and on between them until they finally can perform live and create the barrier if they beat the Saja Boys. This movie has incredibly one-dimensional characters that make some conversations a pointless slog. It’s not always terrible like the music is, but it does get repetitive fast. The actual bad stuff still consists of musical cues throughout the film. By no exaggeration, there are 9 ear bleeding songs in this fucking film and they all are played in full from what I can remember. That’s about at least a fourth of the movie just being random pop garbage songs. It also fucks with the volume and sound design. Maybe it’s just my TVs shitty speakers, but I had to continually turn the volume up and down about 12 times while watching this hellscape! One moment all the supporting characters are talking about performance nonsense and two seconds later the movie volume gets about 40 decibels louder as some lovebird song between the two main groups’ members have another night out together with the girl acting all shy, like goddamn I can see why this movie is called Demon Hunters now…
Finally the ending. The girls perform their 2 songs, the second being the one they just wrote and this is when the main girl is exposed to be part demon in front of her fans, leading her to run offstage. She realizes that the people she was onstage with were actually demons disguised as her groupmates as she actually runs into them offstage. They see that she’s part demon and have the urge to kill her as they draw their weapons. They ask her why she’s been hiding that from them, but like NO SHIT SHE DID! I would hide something from my “friends” too if I thought they would literally kill me over it! That’s exactly what they want to do here! Anyway, the main girl finds the main “dude” in the other band and he tells her that he lied about him not being able to save his family and that he was the one who abandoned them instead. That he knows he’s the monster. This is a simple twist, but sure it works…. Until it doesn’t. This is where the story just gets fucking ridiculous. The Saja Boys somehow hypnotize the whole town and HUNTR/X performs over them during their live show as if the members didn’t just argue with each other, and their music defeats the Saja Boys and Gwi-Ma. The end… Boy, what a shitty rushed ending! It felt like they wanted to have a message about self-acceptance or the fact that nobody is perfect (at least that’s where I thought the plot was going) but it’s executed horribly! A generic “music brings us together” twist had to be thrown in there with no clear explanation. I dunno, maybe I’m just stupid, but that shit was anticlimactic as fuck to me!
And that’s about it: So in summary the movie has some fun moments, but a lot of elements have shortcomings due to its ideas not feeling fully fleshed out. The KPop shit that was acting as a selling point of this movie felt like an afterthought. You could’ve easily replaced it with a different genre or not even include it at all and just focus more on the actual story! None of the characters outside of the main two had anything to do with the overall plot anyway! So overall, it was kinda fun for a first watch at least during the opening moments, but I wasn’t all too impressed by this movie. Of course this average kids film is getting praised by other outlets because nobody has standards anymore! I don’t get how every single writer seems to be so bad at figuring out how shit should end and can’t come up with a creative conclusion. It didn’t even seem that hard to do with this film! What a bunch of wasted potential!

🎤 KPop Demon Hunters: Recap / Rant / Review (1/2) 👹
So last night, I was incredibly bored since I just finished MP4 the other day and decided to watch a movie since it was like only 8:00pm and otherwise wanted to go to bed already. So I decided to watch what is STILL the #1 trending film it seems, with a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, if you still trust RT scores you’re probably an idiot, but the point still stands that it seems like everyone is treating an average at best movie like it’s the second coming of Christ. Long story short, KPop Demon Hunters (good god, what a garbage name) falls flat in several elements that make a movie impactful or memorable. I won’t waste much time rambling about nothing, so let’s just get into the movie.
Normally I’d jump right into the plot, but there are some things that stand out right away in this movie before it even really begins. First of all, the animation of the movie has a 2D-3D hybrid look going for it with a near stop motion-like animation. Apparently Sony Pictures Animation originally started on most of the movie and eventually gave it to Netflix later on because they thought it would flop. I don’t blame them for thinking so in the slightest, but unfortunately for Sony and the film industry, this dogshit ended up being a roaring success! The reason I bring this up here is because clearly the animation style takes heavy inspiration from the Miles Morales Spider-Verse series that the same studio made. It’s vibrant, original and very eye-catching! It also allows for a lot of expressive reactions from the characters in the first third, which can lead to some funny moments. Unfortunately, these moments die down as the plot unfolds and the film’s cracks begin to show.
Alright, let’s finally talk about the plot: As the stupid title of the movie suggests, this is a KPop musical film with a fantasy plot about inner demons. We’re first introduced to a KPop girl trio HUNTR/X that consists of our main protagonists Rumi, Mira and Zoey. What separates them from other artists is that their music is so empowering that they have the ability to fight off demons (because that makes sense…). The demons in this movie are made up of a large group that for generations have been tasked to prey off of regular people’s souls to feed them to their ruler Gwi-Ma, who is a giant pinkish-purple pile of flames that has a voice that the demons constantly here in their heads. The demons usually look like normal people, but have purple jagged patterns on their skin, symbolizing their ruler. In generations past, three girls were dubbed as the Demon Hunters and used their KPop music to hold a barrier over their town that was strong enough to block the demons out (my god…). Ever since then, this roles have been pasted down for generations up until this point where the story takes place. The latest of the Demon Hunters, HUNTR/X, are planning to now create a golden barrier that will keep the demons out permanently.
We then get some random silly moments with the girls wanting to take a short break, but of course the lead member is too enthusiastic about releasing their new single, which they will preform live later in order to create the barrier. The new single “Golden” (original name, I know…) is published right as the lead member notices there is suddenly something wrong with her voice and can’t sing quite like she used to. She then notices that she has a demon pattern on her neck, but apparently she actually knew this already as we then get a flashback of her and her mom since her father was a demon (weird). She tells the other members about her inability to sing, but not the demon pattern and they all go to see some sort of psychic doctor who apparently prescribes medicine just by looking at the patients and reading their personalities somehow. Holy shit is this scene so goddamn bad! This is where the film starts dropping off a cliff and dragging some scenes out without using that time to clarify anything, but we’ll get to that when we get to it.
Shortly after this we get another terrible scene where our protagonists run into a new KPop boy band called the Saja Boys, who we the audience we’re shown beforehand are demons in disguise with the goal of stealing HUNTR/X’s fans in order for the demons to finally concur their town. Their leader wasn’t on board with the idea at first and neither were the other demons, but during that scene they transformed into hot dudes on the fly and everyone casually was like “oh yeah, this will definitely work”. That was the one part of the movie that got a genuine lol out of me! So anyway, we get this really cringy seen of all three of the HUNTR/X members getting total lady boners for the gayest dressed guys in town and then the “guys” start performing a song called “Soda Pop”, which seems oddly dirty for what is supposed to be a kids movie. I might as well just say this now, but this movie has a god awful soundtrack in my opinion. If you like all of the pop garbage that has been ruining the music industry for the past 10 years, you’re gonna feel right at home here. Every pop song to me sounds the exact fucking same as the song before it these days and KPop is no different. Meaning it’s certainly no different in this movie either! So anyway, the HUNTR/X group IMMEDIATELY notice that the guys are demons and see the patterns on their skin while they’re doing their corny pretty boy dances. That sure didn’t lead to any suspense in discovery on their part…
Then all the loser boys go have a nice time at a spa together and the HORN/Y er- I mean HUNTR/X girls join in so that they can kill the demons since they aren’t in front of fans in public anymore. We get this whatever scene of them all fighting and the leader of Saja Boys notices the patterns on the girl group member (I just now realized I’m not referring to any of these characters by name and I really don’t care). Later that same night something strange happens: The girls get back home together and the main chick notices a strange 6 eyed bird outside her window wearing a top hat. The bird leads her to a giant blue demon cat who vomits up an envelope that says “Hello friend, meet me” (Not creepy at all…) and this is where the film tries to get more interesting: The main femboy from Saja Boy meets the main bitch from HUNTR/X on a roof in the city and tells her before she has a chance to kill him that demons are controlled under the ruler against their own will. That Gwi-Ma is always telling them what to do and how pathetic they are in their heads at all times. He explains how he ended up a demon by not being able to save his family and has felt guilty ever since. Like he’s a failure and Gwi-Ma won’t let him go because of it. So the two of them start to secretly team up to free him and the demons, but as KPop groups, they are also opponents in a competition. So later the main girl suggests that he lets her band win since the golden barrier will somehow… also make demons go away or some bullshit (it’s not really explained too well. Just one example of something midway through that should have been fleshed out better)

Wow… just wow.
To anyone who’s still ride or die for team green, hang it the fuck up already! A damn Kinect clone is outselling your console this Black Friday. That should tell you everything you need to know about the Xbox console at this point in time. Who the hell is gonna buy that next gen console now?

Dude, that was the stupidest ending to a game I’ve ever played! 😵💫
Really? All the characters just fight the boss’s final phase instead of you while you escape and then it cuts as the chatty NPCs die offscreen? That’s it. That’s literally the ending! Nothing meant shit for these characters in the end! I guess on the bright side we don’t have to worry about their annoying asses anymore. Final Sylux fight was cheeks too.
If this is the shit we’ve waited 8 years for and it’s for a niche, imagine how bad GTA VI is gonna be. Well done, Retro Studios. You spend half your career making easily the worst game you’ve ever developed! I might have to do a full written review later on this slop. What a travesty!
Go play Prime 1 Remastered. It’s better than this game in every single way. As expected for a 2002 game

This might actually be the most janky, unpolished boss fight I have ever played. And I’m speaking as a Sonic fan when I say that!
Metroid Prime 4 has a lot of really stinky boss fights. The only good ones being similar to that of the original trilogy or use the physics gimmicks in unique ways, which consists of only about half of the bosses so far. Xelios, Omega Griever and the 2 Sylux fights so far were all trash, but Varmis takes the cake as the worst one!
First of all, this is the only boss in the game that you fight on Vi-O-La, your motorcycle thingy. This is clearly a traversal tool that wasn’t made for boss fights and already feels out of place in the game itself. This vehicle creates a disconnect from the franchise you’re actually playing and that’s true for the boss fight as well. When I first started the fight, I tried shooting the fatass’ tail only for it to do no damage. Eventually Myles told me to scan the boss and I just thought “oh duh, I’m playing a Metroid Prime game. I completely forgot!” Something I would have known to do had it been any other boss fight. That’s how much riding the bike doesn’t feel like Metroid Prime. It feels like any other open world game and that takes you out of the original experience that you are supposed to be having.
The bike also has horrible physics. Either that or the boss what just too awkwardly designed. When you see the exposed tail, you are instead supposed to drive into it in order to deal damage, but trying to do that is about as uncomfortable as a 6 month old trying to color while staying inside the lines. The motherfucker’s hitbox is so big that it’s uncertain whether or not you’ll actually hit him even if you aim dead on! If you drive past him and miss, then you have to do the whole thing over again after waiting for about a whole minute for that bitch to stop dancing in the sand! If you are slightly off and the side of his body accidentally, you get launched like 15 miles into the sky for whatever reason! The boss barely even moves! Why did I get launched so far like a toast crumb that he flicked off his face? It’s a complete crapshoot! When you finally hit his weak point, a very awkward explosion sound effect created in the 1970s plays and the boss immediately dives into the sand, meaning that you have to go through the whole sequence over again about 10 times before he finally dies!
If you want some good boss fights and no random open world gameplay, just get the Prime 1 Remaster as it’s better than this game in just about every way! As far as I’m aware, I’m getting close to the end of Prime 4 now thankfully. I’m not sure how much more of this bullshit I can take
