How's it going, everyone! Apologies for not being on schedule, work-life balance and event prep (among other things) has made it hard to run LUMINOUS PANTHEON how I wish to. I do come bearing a TL-related announcement, though.

PSA, the primary NA MBTL community, has started up a fundraiser to fly 4 high-level players out to Eclipse, the Climax of Night successor. Fundraiser events will be taking place, and I intend to help by running some stuff for awareness.

The players are as follow:

🇯🇵 Moai - EVO 2023 Winner, 2nd at Climax of Night F. A world-class competitor in both MBAACC and MBTL, winning multiple major titles in both games. Fearless would be the best word to describe his play—he rarely ever plays into his opponents hand and instead interacts how he pleases. A force to be reckoned with, and its always a pleasure to see him play in the States.

🇯🇵 ??? - An TBD second Japanese player. More details soon.

🇨🇦 KirbySage - You may have seen him here on this channel already in LUMINOUS PANTHEON 01. A top Mario player who, for one reason or another, has yet to debut at a US event. An incredibly technical lab rat and the main mind behind a lot of Mario's modern tech. Continuously demonstrates character mastery through his strong showings in netplay brackets and the occasional Canada regional.

🇨🇱 Donnie - 5th at Climax of Night F. An incredibly strong South American player in both MBAACC and MBTL and a good friend of mine. His incredibly strong fundamentals allow him to excel with any character, as seen in his recent results in Inversion Impulse, the biweekly South American netplay bracket, but his Ciel is easily in the running for the best in the world.

LUMINOUS PANTHEON will (still) return momentarily. However, I have decided that I will be reviewing/rebroadcasting the VOD from the first offline PANTHEON to fill this week's timeslot while I am still figuring out the player list for the next online entry.

As I said in my previous post, these sets were both incredibly fun and incredibly close, so I think it's worth making sure that you guys see it if you haven't! This Satuday, streamed on the platform of your choice here on the ThatKirbo channel.

Forgot to say anything but hello, everyone! I'm back. COMBO BREAKER was incredibly fun. I got 17th again but it was just great to be there and hang out with the Type Lumina community at another major.

We also did run the first offline LUMINOUS PANTHEON at COMBO BREAKER, with the VOD being posted below! The sets were incredibly close and the energy was off the charts. I hope to host more offline PANTHEONs in the future, with the next target being Eclipse! LUMINOUS PANTHEON will return momentarily, I am just taking some time off to get some other work done, cool down after the event, and get the schedule shifted to the promised biweekly rotation.

Friends, I come with a special announcement. This week's LUMINOUS PANTHEON is going to be played LIVE on an official stage at COMBO BREAKER! Featuring returning faces from PANTHEON 01 (already?) and a couple of players who otherwise would not be able to play in the normal LUMINOUS PANTHEON.

Excuse the crop. Melty Blood Type Lumina is going to be a main title at EVO Japan 2026!

This will be the first time in nearly 3 years that it gets the big player treatment from EVO, as the last EVO tournament for Lumina was all the way back in 2023 at that year's EVO Vegas (i was there, made it out of pools then immediately died. oh the memories...).

Do you think anything's going to come from this? I personally don't think so unless Nasu stops ********************************** himself and actually gets back to work. No matter what, this is going to be one of the biggest stages that the game has gotten in a while. There's no doubt it's going to be absolutely electrifying.

I hope you'll be watching some good Lumina in May! It'll be great. When the actual date gets closer, I'll maybe make a video about the competition but no promises.

Fellas, it may be cooked. Climax TL Top 8 VOD is gone because they took it off Twitch and the YouTube VOD starts at Losers Finals. This means no footage! I'll probably do the script for the potential recap video in the background and wait for a full VOD, but in the mean time I'm gonna find other video topics to work on.

I’m home from Climax of Night F, the swan song of the biggest and best French Bread tournament ever. I did both commentary for and played in the Type Lumina bracket, placing 17th out of 142— not too bad— and had the time of my life doing so.

This is such a wonderful event and I’m grateful to Shinobi for running it. I may do a Type Lumina recap of my own since I can’t NOT talk about this event, but I recommend checking out my man, my GOAT, ‪@arhkma_muddykipz‬ for when his Melting Core episode on Climax F will drop.

While Climax of Night as we know it may have ended, that’s absolutely not the end of the story. I will be looking forward to Combo Breaker x CoN and whatever the new project led by ‪@datafgc‬ may be. If you are interested in Type Lumina, French Bread, or just good ass fighting games, you’re not going to want to miss it. It’s going to be something special.
