Finishing my last week of the quarter at Berklee….its been a challenging one with both classes being upper level — Music Law and Copyrights are the two courses I took — I’ll tell you, the music community is rather skeptical about the impact ai is going to have on the industry. I’m not sure how easy my stream of consciousness playing and producing could be duplicated by AI, but I’m sure with the systems getting more data every second…..

As a musician, I feel as though I need to understand technology. As a student at Berklee, it is imperative that a knowledge of AI and its relationship to music is crucial. AI is changing the landscape of music and how it is created and produced. Using Suno, I used my understanding of music to have the program create "Neighbors Say". I'm not monetizing it as I did not sing or play the parts on this song. More of an experiment than anything. Maybe the program could be an aid to work out parts of song at some point. No made up band names or profit seeking here. The last thing I would ever want is for computers to take the place of real musicians. There is something deeply special about playing in a band. The friendships, both musical and personal, make being in a band delightful. So, I personally will never release something for profit that I didn't perform myself or with my band.
