Meditation With Amber

Helping you become your own best friend with mindfulness and meditation.

Meditation With Amber

I had a truly lovely conversation with ‪@hannahgracestudios‬ , who completed the Become Club meditation program last year. She even vlogged her experience!

We talked about how meditation can help us feel more competent when faced with everyday challenges, what "enough" means to us, and letting go of the feeling that we need to be productive all the time.

Meditation With Amber

Meditation can be healing — but if you’ve experienced trauma, it can also be overwhelming. In this video, I’m sharing how to meditate with trauma and make your meditation practice safer, more supportive, and more empowering using principles from Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness by David A. Treleaven.

This is for you if you have a trauma history, support others on their healing journey, or just want to know how to practice safer meditation.

After watching this video, I hope you'll feel a little more prepared and feel like meditating with trauma is a little more doable so that meditation can continue to be one of the many tools in your toolbox.

Meditation With Amber

I've been trying to figure out a way to meet the world as it currently is, and this feels like a good way to do it!

So many people have found me while stressed, unemployed, or juggling difficult jobs, and cost shouldn't get in the way of anyone starting or deepening their meditation practice.

Wherever this current economic and political climate finds you, you are worthy! I believe in you and the magic that happens when we practice together.

Meditation With Amber

Hello dear ones! Today, I’m so excited to share the story of Joni, one of my meditation students who transformed her relationship with stress and uncertainty.

When Joni joined, she was constantly worrying about the future and worried that she would be laid off—something that I know a lot of us are going through right now.

She hesitated to speak up at work, postponed travel, and felt overwhelmed with "what ifs." Plus, all the noise from outside opinions made it hard for her to know what she actually wanted. But using the tools she learned in Become Club, she learned to tune into her own voice, make bold moves, and create her own future.

Now, she’s in an MBA program, launching a startup, and approaching life with a whole new mindset.

In our conversation, we covered:
✨ How anxiety can keep you playing small—and how to break free
✨ The power of mindfulness in tuning out distractions and finding clarity
✨ Why your past doesn’t define your future—and how to rewrite your own story

Meditation With Amber

The other day, I was rushing through a long to-do list which included, among other things:
✅ Eat lunch
✅ Meditate

So I went to the kitchen, pulled something from the freezer, and set it on the stove to heat up. "Great," I thought, "what's next?"

It wasn't until I had sat down on my meditation cushion and set a timer for 30 minutes that I realized that the stove was still on with lunch bubbling away!

If that thought hadn't occurred to me right then, I would have had a horrible, burnt mess to clean up afterwards.

I know, the irony kills me, too.

We're often so focused on the what--the tasks to check off, the deadlines to hit, and the goals we want to achieve.

But today, I want to invite you to shift your focus to the how--the intention, the attitude, and the mindset your bring to each moment.

So here's a helpful practice:

The next time you're doing something routine, like washing the dishes or making the bed, pause for a moment. Take a deep breath, and bring your full, undivided attention to the task.

You don't have to move slowly, but slowing down can help us move with more intention. How does your experience change?

In my experience, this simple shift can bring a surprising sense of peace and purpose to even the most ordinary moments. It might even save you from burning your lunch!

I'd love for you to try this out this week and see how it feels. If you do, DM me and let me know how it goes!

Meditation With Amber

Does this sound familiar?

You thrive on setting goals and seeing them through, whether at work, in your relationships, or in your own personal growth.

You hold yourself to high standards and often feel the pressure to get everything just right.

On the outside, you come across as cool, calm, and collected. People may even tell you how much they rely on you during tough times.

But on the inside, the stress and anxiety can feel overwhelming.

You're so good at holding it all together that you don't always notice how much it's costing you. Your mind races constantly, and the pace you've set for yourself is starting to take a toll--you might even be losing sleep or feeling physically sick.

What you really want is to feel grounded and calm on the inside, no matter what life throws your way.

That's exactly where my Become Club client, Greer, started her journey.

Before joining the Become Club program, Greer had never really meditated before, aside from a handful of times using an app.

But after 7 weeks, she found she had:
🡆 Greater focus at work -- she found herself more able to concentrate at work tasks and take a mindful pause when needed.
🡆 Less reactivity to life's inconveniences -- like traffic jams or unexpected deadlines. Instead of feeling stressed or annoyed, she could reframe the situation and stay present.
🡆Greater self-acceptance -- particularly in social settings. She felt less pressure to say the "perfect" thing and more comfortable simply being herself.

I had the opportunity to take a deep dive with Greer about her experience in the Become Club program, and today I'm excited to share our conversation with you.

Meditation With Amber

Hi friends, many of us are feeling extra stress and anxiety as we process the results of the election this week. You may be feeling grief, exhaustion, anger, or bewilderment. Maybe you even feel numb.

In times like these, I want to encourage you to lean into your practice. Now, more than ever, let yourself feel the wide range of feelings that may be coming up without judgment and with as much kindness and self-compassion possible.

Here are three guided meditation classes to support you during this time.

How to feel better after an argument [8 MIN]: https://youtu.be/TLoNoMIaZD0

Meditation to stop overthinking and anxiety [15 MIN]: https://youtu.be/c0uCAwd58cI

Body scan guided meditation to relieve stress and anxiety [20 MIN]: https://youtu.be/Ybg3uUa162I

After taking some time to sit with your thoughts and emotions, here are some options for what to do next to continue nurturing yourself:

- Uninstall news apps and socials
- Drink a glass of water
- Go for a walk outside
- Spend time with a pet
- Eat a balanced meal
- Take a nap
- Take a long, hot shower
- Expose yourself to some art - movies, music, whatever you love

Take good care, talk soon.

Meditation With Amber

One of my favorite things to do is celebrate my students' wins, and today I want to share an incredible story from one of my Become Club students, Megan.

Megan is someone who, like a lot of us, has tried a lot of different things on her mental health journey -- she's been in therapy for over 10 years, she's meditated using Headspace, she's tested a bunch of different medications, but even still, she found a greater level of peace and presence through the Become Club program.

Here are three of my favorite takeaways from our heartfelt and honest conversation:

💌 Everything You Need Is Already Inside of You
Meditation and mindfulness are all about tapping into the power (and dare I say, magic) that is already within you. You don’t need a special place, a prescription, or anyone else’s permission—just your breath and the courage to show up. In a world that often tells us to look outside ourselves for answers, this practice reminds us that we already have everything we need to heal and grow. It's a radical, beautiful thing: to realize you can guide yourself, right here, right now.

💌 You Can Be Your Own Best Friend
Meditation is a powerful act of self-care, especially during tough seasons of life. When life gets heavy and even getting out of bed seems like a lot, it's so important that we are able to speak to ourselves with kindness. When you tune in and connect with yourself, you're practicing showing up for yourself with the same love and compassion you’d give to your best friend.

💌 Mindfulness and Activism Go Hand In Hand
You've probably heard the serenity prayer: accepting what we can’t change, finding the courage to change what we can, and—sometimes the most challenging of all—knowing the difference. If you consider yourself an activist, you may care deeply about multiple causes, which makes it difficult to figure out where your energy is best spent. Meditation helps us discern where to focus our energy, avoid burnout, and keep showing up for what matters most.

My full conversation with Megan is now available, and you can watch it here.

Meditation With Amber

Hello dear ones! A very special video coming your way tomorrow -- the story how I became a meditation teacher and all the lessons and regrets along the way. I'm mapping out my journey from my first time learning the belly breath as a kid, to spending a month in a Buddhist monastery, to eventually starting Meditation With Amber.

See you there!
