Who Stole the Tiger’s Kill? 🐅🦅 🔥
Tigress P-141 and her sub-adult daughter had just hunted two spotted deer in the grasslands of Panna Tiger Reserve.
They ate the first one and headed off to drink water, leaving the 2nd deer behind.
We were waiting, expecting them to come back to the kill.
After 1.5 hours, we decided to check the kill and what we saw was unexpected.
Standing right over the fresh kill was a group of Vultures! 🦅🔥
And these weren't standard scavengers. They were Red-headed Vultures (Asian King Vultures), which are critically endangered and pretty rare to spot.
Even though we were hoping to see the tigers return, watching these King Vultures feeding up close on a fresh kill was an incredible moment.
I have seen red-headed vultures before, but seeing them this close and eating a fresh kill was a very rare sighting for me.

We came to Panna hoping to spot a tiger...
But Panna was like “Ek tiger se kya hoga?” 🐅🔥
What followed was completely unexpected: 8 individual tiger sightings, a sloth bear, and soaring vultures! My best Panna tiger sighting experience to date surpassing my previous record of 6 tigers back in 2005.

With the gypsies lined up on either side, this legendary tigress of Panna moves with that unmistakable tigress attitude.

Anything can happen in the jungle until the very last second.
It's the golden rule every seasoned guide tells, but you never fully believe it—until the wilderness proves it to you.
Every tiger sighting has a story behind it, but this one with tigress P-242 and her cubs was a race against time! 🐅✨
It was late evening, and we had only 20 minutes left before our safari ended. We had already seen tigress P-242, but her cubs were nowhere in sight.
Just as we thought our time was up, the jungle unlocked its magic in the final 15 minutes. Panna’s flexible gate exit gave us those few extra minutes, and it changed everything.
P-242 appeared with her cubs right alongside her! 🐾🔥
This sighting was the ultimate reminder of that golden rule: anything can happen in the jungle until the very last second.
