1 - bus no 53 in akabane station 2 - highway buses in tokyo 3 - train in a crossing 4 - ginza line train 5 - loop bus in asakusa 6 - vintage truck in a museum 7 - rickshaw trip 8 - bike in front of a shop
of course on top of that list is coffee. we were glad to discover some new cafes worth traveling for and so happy to be back to what we refer to as our "non-negotiable" of this trip 🤭
this was also our first time to see chiang kai shek memorial hall shrouded (tho barely hehe) with cherry blossoms 🌸 same spot but different vibe 🫶🏼
last week, we saw some songkran posts that instantly made us miss chiang mai~
it's so different from bangkok, more tranquil and laid-back yet it has its own energy through vibrant farmers' and artists' markets
counting down until our next trip to chiang mai! for now, we’ll be daydreaming about cozy cafe afternoons, crispy rotis, flavorful seafood krapao, and night markets just outside the old town
took a quick beach trip since we haven't had one in a year or two! it was a nice, relaxing break from work, city life, and all the rush. 🏝️
we were super excited to check out some new spots in urbiztondo, along with a few old favorites. but the best part of the trip was discovering small businesses. buying from local shops is such a personal thing for both the owner and the customer. you can easily tell that they put their heart into everything, making the whole experience way more special. those little chats and moments with the owners would def stick with us and remain a remarkable experience.
when we planned our taiwan trip 3 years ago, we considered staying in taichung for a night or two. since it was our first time in the country, we'd settled on taipei instead.
after 2 trips to taiwan, we finally reached taichung!
the first 2 days were full of flea/pop-up markets and street food, but during our last day, some shops on our list were closed as it was the eve of lunar new year 😅
check out the shops and places we went to in our vlog!
1/4 of our meals and coffee in our taiwan trip last week 🤤
we try our best to go to the most local eatery we can find in every country we visit. even if half the time we’ll get something unknowingly just bc the translation didn’t go through perfectly 🙈
it was also extra hard for us to find a place to eat bc we went during the lunar new year holiday week so most mom-and-pop shops were closed for days. something to take note of for future reference 😅
but overall, we were still lucky to find these shops during our trip and genuinely enjoyed our meals and drinks 🫶🏼
if there was a time when we had a hard time deciding where to eat bc there was so many options to choose from, it was during our trip in hanoi! we just knew everything was gonna be so good and full of flavor. (not to mention cheap too!!)
we also enjoyed walking along the streets of old quarter. it is such a delight as you’ll see the customs and quirks of hanoians.
the last video of our trip is now live! we also had a day trip to ninh binh, a break from the hustle and bustle of hanoi.

can't help but share this as i think it deserves an immediate spot on our feed!!
the views were breathtaking~
the hike from taisho pond to kappa bridge which is 3.5 km, even took us 2 hours bc we had to stop, take some shots, and admire the view!!
we were also lucky to see the japanese alps. the skies were clear, and the wind was a bit chilly~ 🥶 perfect day for a hike! (naks! 😅)
kamikochi vlog soon....
