Not every voice that sounds spiritual is from God. Some are counterfeits, dressed in light but rooted in lies. That’s why Scripture warns us: “Test the spirits whether they are of God.” (1 John 4:1)
The closer we stay to the Word, the easier it becomes to spot the fake. Don’t accept every message at face value, measure it against the truth.

Scripture warns us not to fellowship with darkness but to expose it (Ephesians 5:11). Scary movies may seem like “just fun,” but the enemy uses them to lower our guard and plant seeds of fear, violence, or fascination with evil. God doesn’t give us a spirit of fear. He gives us power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). What you let in through your eyes and ears will take root in your heart.
We spend our lives chasing the temporary, but Scripture reminds us of a sobering reality: “The living know they will die, but the dead know nothing” (Ecclesiastes 9:5). Death is not the gateway to secret knowledge or ghostly existence, it’s a sleep, and the hope of resurrection rests only in Christ. That’s why the way we live now matters.
The question isn’t if we will die, it’s whether we’re living ready for the day Jesus comes to take us home. Are you ready?
