Singer-songwriter Abigail Galwey has pondered a question that cuts to the core of her artistry: What defines her sound? Yes, it’s trip-hop, laced with punk, avant-garde pop, and electronic influences, but it’s so much more. It’s an experimental journey into the depths of self-discovery, tackling the age-old queries of identity and desire. Abigail confronts the lurking beasts within and outside of us—those shadows that prey on our vulnerabilities.
Set to release in winter 2025, her second EP, down the hatch, draws inspiration from the books and films that have shaped her path. It’s a quest for peace in the darkness, illuminating the contours of each shadow. Collaborating with producer Emmanuel Alias—who has worked with artists like Anachnid and Beyries, and scored for shows like Big Little Lies— Feed the Beast breathes life into a metaphorical creature that is as unique as it is bold and raw.
