Cheers! I’m celebrating the World Cup and it’s been so fun to see the world come together with collective JOY. My husband, nephew, and I went down into the streets of Seattle to the Iran versus Egypt game.
We had many good moments, but maybe my favorite moment was when we saw an older man who was wearing a T-shirt with a handsome young man’s face on it, and he was talking on the phone. I asked him who the young man on his T-shirt was. He explained that this young man was Iranian and was shot and murdered. At the same time, we could see that he was face timing somebody, who he explained was his brother back in Iran, who could not make the game here in Seattle. We all hollered happiness into the phone - so he could see us celebrating with him from Seattle. It was a quick spontaneous moment, but I think this was my favorite part of our night!
This World Cup experience has shown that caring, loving and supporting others is truly what life is about!
We had a glorious good time!
