Hello there, I create forecasts for the entirety of the United States. From winter weather to summer weather, you can find the information you need here! I also make compilations, and will soon make weather-related documentaries.
I forgot this absolute gem of a picture, taken April 1, 2025. This was the day after an ice storm and overnight snowfall. Between 0.4-0.8 inches of ice accumulation occurred, along with 1-3 inches of snow.
For who have or have not seen yet, there are a couple models depicting not only a major cooldown. But also a snowstorm??? Now, as much I want to get myself excited, I also know 3 things. 1, it is 300+hours out. 2, there is so much spread in modeling depictions, it is not funny. And lastly, Ensemble spreads DO support an incoming cooldown around that time frame.
However, again, only a few models show a snowstorm. The timing on the trough and associated cooldown is all over the board. And this could be another "false" hopes forecast.
For those who have missed it, my chase from August 16th is out. Here, I intercepted a top 3 Shelf Cloud, and had lightning strike about 80 yards to my side. It was a memorable chase!
From July 23, 2025. Between Lena and Oconto, WI. Damaging winds in the range of 60-70 mph split this Spruce tree. The downed portion managed to go right between the 2000's Silverado and 2000's Chevy Impala. Some smaller branches did dent the Impala's hood a bit, but the owners were otherwise spared. The homeowners did also have a tree fall on the fence for the horse pasture. It was an opportunity to clean up a bit for these guys. Every chaser, whenever possible, should help people.
