🌍 I’m Matt—filmmaker, traveler, father, and trike rider. Years ago, I left behind a “normal” life to cycle from China to the USA on a recumbent trike. That journey evolved into something bigger: a global adventure through cycling, vanlife, travel, and storytelling.

JaYoe Nation documents that journey—across continents, cultures, and life’s unpredictable detours. From van builds to bike tours, family life in China to solo travel across North America, this channel shares the highs, lows, and everything in between.

“JaYoe” (加油) means “add fuel” in Chinese—and that’s what this is all about: adding fuel to life through bold decisions and meaningful exploration.

🎉 Today I’m hitting pause on the timeline to celebrate something even more special…

I’m currently in Southeast Michigan, celebrating my daughter Eva’s 9th birthday! 🥳
Even though the channel shows me just now rolling out of Las Vegas, real life is a few states — and a few milestones — ahead.

Last night, Eva and I went “glamping” in the backyard. Just a little father-daughter magic under the stars ✨⛺️. She’s back in the USA now, and I’m beyond proud of the incredible, thoughtful, adventurous person she’s becoming. The sky’s the limit for this girl. 🚀💖

As for the channel — yes, I’m way behind on uploads. I’ve already visited 15 bike shops across the country (and you’ve only seen three so far!). I’m now back on the road through the Eastern U.S. and Canada, wrapping up six more shop visits before returning home to crank through edits. 🎬

There are 30–40 videos in the queue, and more coming… so thank you for sticking with me and being patient while I catch up!

👉 Next up in the timeline: my visit to Utah Trikes ‪@UtahTrikesOnline‬ — and it’s a great one.

I arrived to Edmonton today. Tomorrow we will ride with Alice and some friends at Renu Cycle. Larry passed a while back and Alice is running the shop now. Weather permitting, we will ride one of Larry’s favorite rides tomorrow. This is Larry’s dog buddy. He likes belly rubs.

There was a channel I always followed when I was touring on my trike — three guys from Europe, riding trikes and bikes, having fun, and creating content. I always thought it would be cool to meet them someday. But the years passed, and we all grew up. Their channel was called Hello Bike World.

Today, as we were wrapping up the SPEZI show, Arlen — one of the ‪@HelloBikeWorld‬ team — approached me out of the blue. Arlen, Robin, and Firmin had come to the show and were just as surprised to see me there as I was to see them! We had a great time talking and catching up.

It was a genuine pleasure — and a complete surprise — to finally meet them. What a small world we live in! It honestly felt like meeting a few celebrities who helped inspire me on the road.
