🦠 EBOLA OUTBREAK 2026 — LATEST UPDATE

🚨 A major Ebola outbreak caused by Bundibugyo virus is continuing in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

According to the WHO, as of 12 August 2026:

• 🧫 4,665 confirmed cases have been reported in the DRC
• ⚠️ 2,184 deaths have been reported
• 📍 Cases have spread across 54 health zones in 6 provinces
• 🔬 The outbreak has become the largest Ebola outbreak ever recorded in the DRC, surpassing the 2018–2020 outbreak
• 📈 The week of 3–9 August recorded the highest weekly numbers so far, with 579 confirmed cases and 304 deaths.
