Last night on our Discord (discord.gg/ocremix), we held our first ever LET'S PLAYLIST event, where a bunch of folks in the community hopped on a call and put together a playlist of OC ReMixes based on the theme of "Night Driving." People combed through the OCR archives and posted tracks they thought fit the theme, and then we all listened together and debated whether or not the tracks fit the vibe. We tried to keep the game and artist selection diverse. I think we came up with something pretty good, and folks had a good time discovering OC ReMixes they hadn't heard before.

OverClocked ReMix: Video Game Music Community

Hey folks. Earlier today we posted a video for a new ReMix, and it turns out that the background video loop we used was AI-generated. We make all of our visualizer videos ourselves using custom software and free-to-use loops that we get from various sites. Usually we're pretty careful about verifying that the loop we're using is authentic and not AI-generated, but this one fooled us; the description of the loop didn't call it out as AI-generated, and we didn't see the usual, tell-tale signs of diffusion. Some commenters questioned the loop, and we looked into it more and verified that it was AI-generated.

OC ReMix has a policy in place of not accepting AI-generated music for the remixes we showcase; we're pretty adamant about it, actually. We've also had discussions in the past with our team that makes the visualizers that we shouldn't be using AI video loops. Unfortunately sometimes stuff slips by. Thanks to all the folks who clocked the loop as AI in the video's comments, we're catching this fast enough that we can make it right. The offending video has been unlisted for the time being, and we're going to make a new one with an authentic loop. Once that's ready, we can toss the old video in the trash, where all AI crap belongs.

Really sorry about this folks. It's not fair to the artists who make great ReMixes that the comment sections fill up with discussion about whether the video loop is AI or not, and that's not on you guys, that's on us. We'll tighten things up and be more careful. Keep an eye out for the updated video. Thanks.
