✍️ I’m truly happy to have two new students tonight! We had a great lesson. I asked them why they wanted to study English, and understanding their “why” makes it so much easier for me to teach. I also shared that teaching is my passion and clearly explained my expectations: I give my all and expect the same in return.

About ten years ago, teaching for a living was just a wishful thought. I never imagined it would become my reality over the past couple of years. Although I’m earning only a fraction of what I used to make in America, I couldn’t be happier.

Waking up this morning, I felt shortness of breath. I think I’m a bit exhausted from all the traveling. As soon as I got back from a two-week trip to Da Nang, I went on another trip to Vũng Tàu. My sisters had planned it without me knowing.

Here I am, writing to you while catching my breath. Writing helps me relax.

I’ve been following world news closely over the past several weeks, especially the tensions involving Iran. I felt hopeful when a ceasefire was announced, but so far, no agreement has been reached. These conflicts have affected people all around the world. The casualties continue to rise, and the cost of living is skyrocketing.

I truly hope and pray that it will all be over soon, and that everyone can live in peace again. 🙏 #prayer #peace

Everyone on this earth has to deal with some form of trouble. If it’s not a financial issue, it may be a relationship or a health issue. Who can truly say which is worse than the others?

So how do we live with it?

Sometimes money can solve many problems. Other times, it’s a clear and steady mind that helps us navigate through them. And when you’ve tried your best and things still don’t work out, you have to learn to let go. You can’t keep enduring something that is slowly destroying you. Choosing to walk away is not an act of cowardice—it’s a way to restore your peace of mind and your health.

Life can be both complicated and simple, depending on how you choose to deal with it. True freedom and happiness come from waking up each morning with a smile, looking forward to a new day—embracing what you want to do and the people you choose to connect with. ♥️

✍️ I currently have a song list of 46 Vietnamese songs and 30 English songs. Every day, I dedicate a couple of hours to refining my craft. I don’t know where it will take me in the future, but one thing I know for sure is that I’m always ready to entertain my friends whenever we have a gathering.

I don’t drink, smoke, or engage in any harmful habits for entertainment. Singing, along with traveling, is my true joy. I value my health above all, which is why I make time each day for both physical and mental exercise. Singing is one of the best ways to improve both physical and mental well-being. You don’t have to go anywhere—you can simply sing along using your phone.

I feel happy and grateful to be rich in time and filled with joy, simply from singing my heart out every day. 🥰

I used to feel offended when people told me I had an accent in both English and Vietnamese—especially Vietnamese. It made me feel like I didn’t belong anywhere, neither in America nor in Vietnam. But now, I’ve decided to embrace who I truly am: an American of Vietnamese descent. It’s okay not to speak any language perfectly. It’s okay to not be okay. I’m still happy and always grateful for everything! 😘

Trưa hôm qua trên đường đến Biển Mỹ Khê, sau khi mua hai món đồ trị giá chỉ 30.000 đồng từ một ông cụ bán hàng rong có vẻ gần như mù, lòng mình chợt dâng lên sự cảm động và kính nể.

Cảm động vì thấy ông tuổi đã cao, sức đã yếu mà vẫn phải mưu sinh vất vả như vậy. Ông nói rằng số tiền này cũng đủ cho bữa trưa hôm nay rồi.
Sau đó, mình nghe ông ngân nga vài câu trong một bài nhạc mới phát hành, đang được nhiều người yêu thích gần đây, có tựa đề “Được.” Mình kính nể về sự lạc quan của ông.

Là một người yêu âm nhạc và trân trọng những ca từ ý nghĩa, mình chỉ muốn đứng lại để lắng nghe ông hát… và cũng thầm ước rằng mình có thể làm được điều gì đó nhiều hơn cho những mảnh đời còn nhiều khó khăn trong cuộc sống này ♥️

✍️ After two years of singing karaoke, I’m taking things up a notch by performing with a live band. It was frightening at first, but I absolutely loved it! I no longer have to chase lyrics on a screen—instead, I can sing at my own pace while the musicians play along with me.

This experience requires me to memorize beats and rhythms, which is exactly what I’m committed to improving this year. Having had years of piano lessons has really helped me read music notes more confidently.

Next year, I’d love to pick up a new instrument—the guitar. I truly enjoy learning, and I’ll probably be a student for life. 😘

✍️ While on stage last night, two ladies came up and asked to take a photo with me. I was pleasantly surprised, as it was the first time anyone had wanted to take a photo with me on stage as if I were a celebrity—lol.

I had a great evening with my dear friend who celebrated my birthday with me at a nightclub, where we sang a few songs and danced our happy feet away. I’m happy and grateful for her company!
This concluded my birthday celebrations with four different groups—from my childhood friends to new neighbors and cousins. Instead of feeling sad about not having my children and my sweetheart Jayden around on my birthday, I chose to seek happiness with others. It’s all good. Life is what you create.

A dear friend told me to take it easy and enjoy life in Vietnam. She reminded me that I spent decades in the U.S. taking care of my children and working hard. Now it’s time to relax a little and enjoy what I’m doing here.

Being able to sing my heart out after decades of silence is the greatest joy I have earned. I am truly happy and grateful for a wonderful 56th birthday. Thank you! ♥️

✍️I got choked up while giving an impromptu speech at my birthday party at my friend’s house last night.

Over the past couple of years, we’ve shared many meals, along with tears and laughter. From the very beginning, we were drawn to each other as if I were their long-lost sister. I treat her parents with the same respect as my own, and I love her siblings and children just as much as mine. With them, I feel love, comfort, and a true sense of belonging.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything. ♥️
