Just saw the news today that Brent Hinds had passed in a motorcycle wreck. Absolutely tragic. He was a hell of a player and despite all the recent animosity and bitterness towards his former band his contributions to Mastodon are impossible to ignore. RIP, Brent.

What's up, everyone! Nick here. I've got a couple of announcements here. First off if you all aren't doing anything Saturday night I'll be doing a Deftones deep dive over on ‪@GMHG777‬ which should be a lot of fun (looking forward to that new album later this month too). RIP Ozzy. You've been with us on metal's entire journey up to this point and it's evolution and rabid fandom is large in part to you. I'm glad you gave us one last show and legit gave it your all and I treasure all the times I got to see you both with Sabbath and a solo artist. Though I feel like we lost metal's heart in away it still beats strong in every fan you made and every band you inspired. You were nothing less than a fucking legend, Ozzy!

So this week there's little to nothing coming out for review and since it's a holiday weekend here in the states we're going to take a break from recording for a bit (I might throw together something together or do a live stream or something) but I will be making an appearance over on ‪@HeavyMetallurgy‬ for a really cool discussion on the 4th.
