Today, on mountaineering day, we celebrate the indomitable spirit of those who dare to dream beyond the highest peaks. Yet, this day is also filled with profound sorrow as we mourn the tragic loss of Nirmal “Ninsdai” Purja and fellow mountaineers who lost their lives in the devastating Broad Peak avalanche. Mountains inspire us with their beauty, but also remind us of the immense courage, sacrifice and respect they demand. Nimsdai’s extraordinary legacy of determination, resilience and passion for the mountains will continue to inspire generations of climbers around the world.

On this mountaineering day, let us honor every mountaineer who has dedicated their life to the pursuit of the summits and remember those who never returned home.

May the departed souls rest in eternal peace and may their families ,friends and the global mountaineering community find strength in this difficult time.
