Hello, everyone! I’ve been so busy I forgot to do a video update for February, so this is going to be a bit of a massive post, especially since I posted 12 videos on my channel in March alone!
That’s a lot of work! If you’ve been enjoying my content, I highly encourage you to support me on Patreon, Ko-fi, Memberships or Super Thanks, but only if you’re able to. My work wouldn’t be able to continue with all your support over the years, and I’m very grateful. Patreon: www.patreon.com/FilmBrain Ko-fi: ko-fi.com/filmbrain
I edited @AllisonPregler and @phelous looking at the infamous Mike Myers version of The Cat in the Hat, a movie which is an absolute nightmare even before I added clips of Pinhead - and was apparently so even behind the camera!
Did you order a review with all the toppings (by which I mean I'm in it, as well as doing the editing)? I join @AllisonPreglerand @phelousto discuss this Canadian pizza-based flick that serves up your rom-com with all the clichés, extra cheesy!
I edited @AllisonPregler and @phelous reviewing Hard Gun, a Thai martial arts flick with some of the Ong-Bak team, that features one of the most comically inept dubs I've *ever* seen!
Wanted to catch up everyone on everything I've done in January! A busy month for me behind the scenes usually, but at least I've been pretty visibly productive too.
I released two full-length videos last month! I wasn't the fastest to review Sonic the Hedgehog 3, but I caught up with it! Meanwhile, I explain why Steven Soderbergh's Presence, a ghost story from the spirit's POV, isn't a horror film really. Sonic 3: https://youtu.be/6mVR9kBu00Y Presence: https://youtu.be/S0uYddkynIk
Elsewhere in Shorts, it was a pretty wide range of titles. Odessa Young's fishing port suffers grave misfortune in The Damned; Lea Seydoux leads French stars sending themselves up in Quentin Dupieux's typically weird The Second Act: a misanthrope has his life saved by a stray dog in Hong Kong drama Alone No More; killer frat boys get their comeuppance thanks to some killer Bystanders; Sunray: Fallen Soldier is a film made by and starring ex-Royal Marines Commandos; and Frank Grillo has to survive a night under a supermoon turning everyone into Werewolves! Sunray: Fallen Soldier: youtube.com/shorts/On6rIiQJCF... Werewolves: youtube.com/shorts/8ZAxJ_OvSL...
I've also edited a new episode of my friend @AllisonPregler's Movie Nights on a hilariously dubbed early Tony Jaa film called Hard Gun, which isn't public yet. I'm already working on the next episode, and I think you're really going to like that one...
Please enjoy this photo of me watching Alone No More, rather ironically in a cinema totally all by myself...
Not done one of these video roundups for a few months, so let's close out 2024 with a little recap! First of all, I wanted to apologise for not being more active over the last month, I've largely been wiped out by illness, and I've hardly had enough voice to get in front of a camera, but that does finally seem to have cleared just before Christmas. In long form videos, I've recently looked at the very cheap Hellboy film The Crooked Man, Clint Eastwood's (likely final film) Juror #2, and Dwayne Johnson's over-stuffed Christmas flop, Red One. Hellboy: The Crooked Man: https://youtu.be/Th-k5fDCVZA Juror #2: https://youtu.be/9jLvSkQdqcE Red One: https://youtu.be/zlSsMwXuZCY
Over in my Shorts, I did a lot of horror in October and lots of Christmas in December, covering a bunch of smaller titles (particularly in the latter month, when I could get my voice to hold for 15 minutes). I also did a few reviews of titles I saw at London Film Festival, like Shamiek Moore going bowling in The Gutter, Cate Blanchett leads the G4 against bog bodies in Rumours; and Elton John looks back on his career in Never Too Late. Elsewhere, an influencer gets buried in Die Before You Die; a woman is tormented by an evil sheriff in Blood Star; a mute serial killer is tormented in The Deserving; Daisy Ridley is cooped at home with her suspicions in Magpie; Michael Cera leads a strange Christmas Eve in Miller's Point; Santa thinks he's a superhero in SuperKlaus; thieves hide using time travel in Things Will Be Different; Lee Mack and Chris McCausland are Home Alone in Bad Tidings; and Danny DeVito gets festive in August in A Sudden Case of Christmas. Die Before You Die: youtube.com/shorts/rmranhDDuB... Blood Star: youtube.com/shorts/4lS7bLQ5cy... The Deserving: youtube.com/shorts/UmhzTmIbQS... Rumours: youtube.com/shorts/IyiSecn89a... The Gutter: youtube.com/shorts/NBoOxihxtH... Magpie: youtube.com/shorts/PT0-S6a3VU... Christmas Eve in Miller's Point: youtube.com/shorts/O_IxVXM1jK... Bad Tidings: youtube.com/shorts/POz879n3XH... A Sudden Case of Christmas: youtube.com/shorts/ijGP5WcZ8N...
Again, apologies I've not been more active recently, but I should break that spell soon. Wishing you all a safe, healthy, and prosperous New Year and 2025! Take care of each other, everyone. 🙂🎞

Hello, everyone! I’ve been so busy I forgot to do a video update for February, so this is going to be a bit of a massive post, especially since I posted 12 videos on my channel in March alone!
In long-form videos, I took a trip with Paddington in Peru; banged the drums of death with The Monkey; and witnessed A24’s not-finest-hour Opus!

The Monkey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cRLD...
Opus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2djHC...
In February’s Shorts, I looked at Into the Deep, the other Richard Dreyfuss shark movie; wrestled with Chris Jericho in Dark Match; and was haunted by Emily Hampshire’s Mom and The Baby in the Basket!

Mom: www.youtube.com/shorts/fesIt9...
The Baby in the Basket: www.youtube.com/shorts/lSKVEa...
In March’s Shorts… deep breath… a crypto heist goes wrong in Cold Wallet; three teens time travel by sneezing in the bonkers Escape from the 21st Century; a Papa has to come to terms with his son’s murder of his wife and daughter; a documentary on the model Twiggy; John Lithgow (with puppet) and Geoffrey Rush have a care home battle of wills in The Rule of Jenny Pen; a warehouse picker struggles with loneliness in On Falling; a stage mom steals her comatose daughter’s identity in Audrey; an outsider assimilates himself into a middle-class family in Brief History of a Family; French nuns on bikes in Oh My Goodness!; and a realtor flips haunted houses in the mockumentary For Sale By Exorcist.

But wait, we’re not done yet! I also edited the two latest Movie Nights with @AllisonPregler and @phelous! First, I join them on-camera for the hysterically stereotypical pizza-based romcom Little Italy, then they look at the nightmare that is the Mike Myers version of The Cat in the Hat!
Little Italy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24bB9...
The Cat in the Hat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAzpF...

I've once again teamed up with @DiamandaHagan, in the final of the Belfast crossovers filmed earlier this year, where a group of cave divers go up against a cave troll - yep, it's Grim, alright. The flubs are also available!
