Humanism is important because we need to realise that Human values are a worthy pursuit to ensure the success of our species and its future generations. We understand that the responsibility for ushering this new future is within our hands and our hands alone, not in the external agency of a supernatural force, and this is more understood in communities becoming more and more pluralistic. In todayβs realities, Humanism is a light that shines a path to focusing on our common humanity, rather than our differences, to foster democratic dialogue in better, stronger, freer communities.
Humanists Malta
π Remembering Ramon Casha π
Today marks the 7th anniversary of Ramon Casha's passing, our beloved ex-Chairman at Humanists Malta. Ramon was not just a fellow Humanist; he was a generous philanthropist and a powerful voice for secularism in our local community.
As a founding member, Ramon played a key role in creating an Ethics Programme in the National Curriculum and establishing the first humanist celebrant service in Malta. He celebrated the first humanist ceremony, a wedding, making local history. π
Ramon's legacy lives on through the Ramon Casha Scholarship Scheme for Migrant Women. π This scholarship promotes female education and empowers migrant women, who often face double ostracization due to both their migrant status and gender.
Join us in celebrating Ramon's life by contributing to this worthy cause which was very close to his heart. π Visit our website at maltahumanist.org/scholarship-scheme/ to learn more and make a donation. Let's keep his memory alive by supporting his Scholarship Scheme. πΈ
