“Balance”

It’s important to balance our two brains
To navigate within appropriate social lanes.
Grace must be balanced with accountability
And boundaries - with genuine vulnerability.

Picasso and Einstein are both important…
Unbalanced, each can become self-absorbent.
Poetry and budgeting are BOTH talents,
So making art and taxes must be balanced.

Feasting must be balanced with fasting,
Striving - with abiding in God everlasting,
Solitude - with socializing, faith - with works,
Heart - with head - to repel and rebuke jerks.

Performance must be balanced with resting.
Surrender - with desire, tithing - with investing,
Contentment - with goal-setting, hustle with sleep,
And being fake and guarded must be balanced with being authentic and deep.
