Fun Fact: The Boeing 787 doesn’t have any opening cockpit windows.
The windows themselves are aerodynamically shaped to follow the curve of the nose.
Other planes feature opening windows which in case of an accident can be used to escape.
The pilots can throw a rope out of the cockpit and climb down.
The 787 is unique in this feature because it has a roof hatch behind the pilots instead of opening cockpit windows and a rope too.
So the pilots pop this hatch open and climb on the roof and carefully make their way down with the rope.
Pretty cool right?
