BREAKING: Eagles OLB Nolan Smith was arrested last Friday for “speeding in excess of maximum limits and reckless driving”, per the Georgia Gazette.


Smith, 25, was booked into the Twiggs County Jail after going 137 mph in a 70 mph zone.

Ravens star QB Lamar Jackson is absent for the first voluntary OTA practice under new HC Jesse Minter 🚨

Jackson, who’s been in negotiations with the Ravens about a lucrative extension, did not show up for Minter’s first voluntary minicamp earlier this offseason.

The other four quarterbacks on the roster showed up for OTAs today: Tyler Huntley, Skylar Thompson, Diego Pavia, and Joe Fagnano.

While the workouts are voluntary, the starting quarterback and team leader is expected to attend, especially with a new head coach in place.

Mallard Creek High School only needed two points in the boys 4x400 relay to win their third straight outdoor state title in North Carolina. The anchor, Nyan Brown, was an N.C. State signee who had already broken a 20-year state record in the 300m hurdles earlier the same day.

He ran the anchor leg the way everyone expected. By the final stretch he was well clear of the field. With two or three seconds left before the finish, he lifted his left hand and held up five fingers, signaling what would have been the Mavericks' fifth straight state title between indoor and outdoor competition.

An official threw a yellow flag. Brown was disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct. The ten points Mallard Creek would have earned for the win became zero. Durham Jordan, which had led the team standings by two points going into the relay, was named champion.

Coach Samuel Willoughby said the team froze. He pleaded his case on the infield. The head official said she would review the video. She came back and told him she had to back her officials.

Officials say Brown had been warned earlier in the day after a small celebration following his hurdles record. Willoughby says no warning was ever delivered to him or to Brown. When he asked if there was video of the warning, he was told there was none.

Athletic director Bryant Bailey told the Charlotte Observer the call didn't match what officials had let slide all week. Mallard Creek filed a formal appeal with the NCHSAA on Monday.

Trophies have already been handed out, and on-site judgment calls are rarely overturned. What do you think?
