USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council)

The U.S. Green Building Council and its community are changing the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated.

We believe in better buildings; places that complement our environment and enhance our communities. Places that give people better, brighter, healthier spaces to live, work and play.

Green building is a win-win, offering both environmental and economic opportunity. Greater building efficiency can meet 85 percent of future demand for energy in the United States and a commitment to green building has the potential to generate 2.5 million jobs.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for our nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings.

During last week's annual ConstruVerde event in Colombia, we had the honor of presenting the Port of Barranquilla with its official hashtag#LEED for Cities Gold certification plaque.

As the largest city in Latin America to achieve LEED for Cities certification, Barranquilla's achievement not only demonstrates its remarkable transformation of one of its defining public spaces but also its commitment to improving resilience, strengthening its economy, and enhancing the quality of life for its residents. 👏
