Took Mom to see Predator Badlands last night!

Past me loved the gore and whatnot of the franchise. Now I really just like the Yautja for their armor and stuff so it was a pleasant surprise to see this one being FAR less gory than previous installments.

Honestly had a good message to it about a (gonna sound cringe but) young Yautja (Dek) being the weakest of his clan and for that, his father treats him like an outcast. Now his brother protects him from his father, and long story short Dek goes on an adventure of actual growth.

Throughout the movie you see him learn, adapt, and ultimately respect his surroundings. May seem odd for a movie centered around hunters from another planet that take pride in slaughtering any game they deem worthy, but it was a nice change and my Mom actually enjoyed it (she's always strongly disliked the Predator movies)

On the note about the father figure in the movie, many of us may have had or still have terrible role models, but our Creator, God Almighty wants to be our Heavenly Father. When we accept His Son Jesus' perfect blood shed in our place, He becomes our Heavenly Father and with His infinite wisdom, compassion, and love He wants to guide us throughout every moment in life. Rely on God, He's so very good, and a relationship with Him is better than anything in the universe.
