My Heart of the Matter

I had a widow maker heart event on the evening of September 14 of 2024 and the next morning had a quadruple heart bypass surgery. No one really gave me any diet help after surgery. My primary doctor, after seeing my A1c go up on a mostly plant based , very low fat diet in the months following my heart surgery , told me, cut the carbs.
That did not work for me . I did not feel good or see my blood sugar go down on low carb
I’ve decided to fine tune my diet, add in a healthy carbs but continue to cut sugar and processed grains , add in more vegetables, a little bit of berries, and a little bit of lentils and beans and quinoa. I now eat lean chicken, fish, and pasture raised eggs .

My Heart of the Matter

Sorry I have not been doing videos this week but we’ve been doing a lot of purging and taking to charity and I just haven’t had time but here’s a picture of my dinner lean ham that we trimmed off the full ham and some black beans and some homemade coleslaw with light mayonnaise and nonfat milk and a little mustard and apple cider vinegar the kind with the mother and then some corn chips that are corn water lime and just corn oil there’s no other ingredients in them. So that’s dinner for tonight and took a picture

My Heart of the Matter

I am going to be focusing on this channel going forward. I’ve been on my heart journey for a year and it’s taking me that long to get ready to start talking. I want to start sharing what I’m doing, what I’m learning, my fears going forward and what I do every day to improve my health. I want to take this channel forward and find people like me who are struggling after heart disease, stints , bypass or just struggling to get healthy to avoid those things. I’ve been on this journey a year now and it’s been quite a year but I’m looking forward to going forward this year and learning even more and improving my health even more and meeting others that are on the same journey. so I will be posting regularly on this channel maybe several times a day with short videos showing what I eat talking about different subjects and just life in general going forward. I would love to hear from you guys what you want to hear from me and love to hear from you your stories as well!
