On May 19th, I will be streaming games for the Monarch Restoration Project. The Project, which is run through OneTreePlanted, focuses on farmland conversion and forest restoration in the Michoacan state of Mexico, the monarch butterfly's winter migration destination. The project plants native trees such as Oyamel Fir, Mexican pines, Mexican cypresses, and Chihuahua pines, creating migratory rest stops for the butterflies as they travel. Along with helping the ecosystem and the butterflies, the project will also help teach sustainable foresting practices, ex: proper planting techniques, sustainable harvesting, and land and plant protection. The project will also create jobs and opportunities for those impacted. Every dollar donated helps. Literally. For every dollar donated, a tree will be planted. So, no matter the donation size, every little amount helps. The donation goal will be $150, and I will top it off with $100 of my own money.
