One reason why I’m anxious about this release: the message
If you know me, you know I like to keep most of my life private. But truly, I’ve kept a certain side of me private for a really long time because I was trying to figure things out for myself. My journey is a long story to tell, however, I’ll try my best to cut to the point.
I fell in love with a woman and was scared and confused about what I was feeling. Terrified actually. I was accustomed to thinking this type of love was a sin. So for a really long time I used to push those feelings aside and tried my best to get over them. Eventually I came out to my parents which of course wasn’t the easiest thing to do, especially coming from a traditional Filipino household. But with time (A LOT of it), I’ve learned that shit gets better. We might hit an emotional rock bottom sometimes, but things will always turn around. It took my family 10 years to accept me and to finally be okay with who I chose to love. I’m just thankful for time and patience. It’s been a hard road navigating this part of my life, but I hope sharing this song and my story can help someone else going through this 🤍
