Hello parrot people!

I hope you're all doing well. It's time for the usual community post update!

firstly, if you missed it, my latest video looking at what your cockatiel may want from YOU is up now!
You can find it here: https://youtu.be/tH_a4qZXQsI

We have also added some exciting new goodies to our webstore including new mixes, freeze dried fruit and first aid items along with restocking favourites and high demand bits!
Check it all out here: bestbehavedbirdsshop.com/

We know you are all excited to pick up bits, so are always trying hard to keep things in stock.
For channel members and patrons, there will also be an upcoming discount code. So do keep an eye out for a dedicated post on how to apply it!

Otherwise, lots going on here work wise and with the flock. The cockatiel gang have been REALLY enjoying their bathing as you can see from the photo. Tutun especially has loved getting into the play sink, while the other boys enjoy being sprayed lightly for their baths.

Scampi has also been doing something mega cute. She has been insisting on bathing in my cupped hands under the tap. One day she just decided, no sink for me, I want you to be part of my bathing routine! Pickles meanwhile has just been watching it all unfold and grumbling lol

Olive and Char have had some extra training of late. I've been trying to shape Char's roll over into a play dead behaviour which is going well so far. While Olive is extra vocal, cheeky and demanding!

Finally, if you're on Patreon you'll know what's been going on with Louis & Kipling. They both are doing fine, but obviously keeping an eye on things. They have both been foraging lots when they can!

As for us, as always incredibly busy. So many things to keep on top of which can be mega demanding. It's meant a lot less free time and also with stresses in our personal life lots of tiredness!

Also, if you're into reptiles or invertebrates. Check out my other channel ‪@Spooderpods‬ as I recently popped up a viper gecko guide!

Have a good one!

Hello parrot people!

It's been a while since my last community post, so I thought I'd give you a quick update on what's been going on.

Firstly, if you missed it, my latest video exploring our small bird business is up now! You can find out all about what we stock and how we do it!
You can find it here: https://youtu.be/7Jna36ZtOak

We have also had a MASSIVE restock and added some new products to the store, including things you guys have been asking for. So do go check out the new additions to the range: bestbehavedbirdsshop.com/

It's been crazily busy here and it doesn't seem like it's going to settle anytime soon! But, we are still making time for the flock and also made sure to get our latest patreon video discussing light levels up today too!

The birds are doing fine. The cockatiels have been mega active during most outings, probably due to the change in the weather. This means lots of roaming on the floor, singing and posturing!
The conures have been their usual selves. All of the conures have been busy destroying new toys we got them as well as demanding extra baths. Clearly they want to stay looking their best!

As for us, work work work with some hobby time where possible. Still painting my models, still watching anime and we are playing through the Resident Evil series currently on number 2!

Hope you're all doing well!

Hello parrot people!

Usual update post for you all.

If you missed it, my latest video looking at the cleaning products we use/how we keep our house and bird cage's clean is up now!
You can find it here: https://youtu.be/V3Wo-HEnz5w

If you're in the UK you can find many of the bits featured in the video over ‪@NorthernParrots‬ !

Don't forget to check out the latest channel member exclusive video too if you are one. I thought you guys deserved a special thanks for your support!

Also, for those of you who have been asking, two updates:

We have now popped up the pre-recorded version of our hormones course over on our shop. So if you missed out on the live session you can now view the entire workshop (without the Q/A) there!
Link: bestbehavedbirdsshop.com/products/managing-parrot-…

We have also restocked the moulting meal topper as well as some of the individual toy parts, including sola! So if you were one of those asking about when they'd be back in stock, they are in stock now along with our latest limited edition mix!
Link to store: bestbehavedbirdsshop.com/

Now the updates are done, let's talk about what's been going on here! It's hormone season in full swing here at bird HQ. However, due to the effort we go to we haven't seen too many undesirable behaviours apart from a little extra noise. Louis & Kipling seem to be the worst impacted and have been getting "cheeky" a few times.

Hormones are totally natural in parrot biology, however when we keep them in captive environments it's always important to keep an eye on them and manage them effectively to ensure our birds are living their best lives and don't come to any harm!

If you're on patreon, my latest video over there discusses cost/benefit of various things in relation to hormones including UV, keeping birds together and diet.

Otherwise, the flock are doing well, as are we. Busy as always and lots going on in the background, but fighting the good fight!

Hope you are all doing well!

Hello parrot people!

It's love your pet day! So tell me how you showed your pet you loved them today down in the comments?!

Quick catch up post for you all with a nice photo of a very wet fish! All of the cockatiels decided that it was bath time and we didn't want to disappoint them, especially today! I'll have a video on bath training coming up soon too!

In case you missed it, me & Sophie are hosting a hormones course soon. Many of you ask about hormones and how to deal with them, so we thought we would hold a formal course with Q&A to give you as many tools as possible to help!
Spaces are limited, but we have two slots to accommodate different timezones.

You can book here: bestbehavedbirdsshop.com/collections/live-managing…

We've also restocked some other goodies, while selling out again of some of your faves. Don't worry, they will be back in asap!

The flock have been doing well as a whole. Lots of disruption lately due to emergencies, work and other annoyances! But we are all powering through and also doing our best to make sure the birds still get plenty of fun time/attention.

The one fun thing we did recently is go to a local invert show. I vloged it over on my other YouTube channel ‪@Spooderpods‬ if you fancy checking it out!

Im still watching my anime, doing my hobby stuff and have recently started playing FF7 Intergrade and a game called Daemon X Machina!

Hope you're all doing well!

Bird Behind The Scenes Update!

Hello parrot fans,

I'm back for your usual behind the scenes update on what's been going on.

Firstly, we have a new course coming soon. Many of you ask about hormones and how to manage/prevent hormonal spikes. So we are doing a live course all about the topic including a Q/A at the end.

Spring is coming, and for many parrots, that means an increase in hormonal behaviour. If you are dealing with sudden biting, excessive screaming, territorial cage guarding, or frustration, you are not alone, and we can give you the strategies to handle it!

As usual spaces will be limited, but we have two sittings to make sure everyone can attend. The course will be held via zoom and if you miss it there will also be a pre-recording to catch up on later.

Link to course: bestbehavedbirdsshop.com/collections/live-managing…

Also, remember if you are a patron or channel member there will be an exclusive discount code to get the course at a special price, check out the dedicated posts on here and patreon to get it!

We also have a special offer currently running over on our store for any physical purchase. We are including a bag of almonds absolutely free!
Check out our goodies here: bestbehavedbirdsshop.com/

The flock have been doing well. Sophie had a family emergency recently, so things have been chaotic and I've been having to keep the flock company over the past couple of days.

It was funny seeing how keen the cockatiels were to come out after, all jumping onto me one after the other to settle and preen on me.

Pickles was so excited she snuck out of her food hatch while I did their routine feeding, while Scampi didn't even want to go back in!

Louis & Kipling had extra training through the bars while Olive & Char enjoyed more foraging activities to keep them entertained!

I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the content!
