`INSPIRATION' to UNLOCK POTENTIAL!
I have created this channel to inspire others to take action in leading their own lives and communities - with particular focus on women like me who want to make impact, no matter how small.

I believe we all have potential and the purpose of my content is to inspire you to unlock your potential.

I have worked within the voluntary and charity sector in roles ranging from project & community development to fundraising, to governance and change management. I am a champion of the not-for-profit sector, supporting small charities and community groups in the UK and abroad.

I am a huge advocate of sustainability through fundraising and the potential to sustain charitable work, community cohesion and community development through collective action. I believe we have everything we need to sustain ourselves within every community - we just need to bridge the gap between those who are the most privileged and those who are in most need.

120+ YOUNG PEOPLE killed and thousands injured!

These are College and University students in Bangladesh who were protesting for their rights.

What triggered the protests?

Protests erupted two weeks ago on university campuses as students demonstrated against civil service hiring policies. They want an end to a quota system that reserves more than half of civil service posts for specific groups, including children of veterans from the country's 1971 liberation war against Pakistan, women, people in the impoverished districts, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities.

Critics say the system (30%) benefits families of pro-government groups that support Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who won her fourth consecutive election in January after a vote with no real opposition.

Earlier this month, a Supreme Court bench ordered the reintroduction of job quotas, which were scrapped in 2018 in the face of massive student protests. However, an appeals court ordered a status quo on job quotas until early next month.

This quota comes amid high youth unemployment. The protesters called on the government to resolve the issue once and for all.

I've been following the developments:

➡️ It started with protests by students,

➡️ followed by violence between the student arm of the ruling party (Government) and the student protesters,

➡️ Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina appeared on public broadcast seeking to calm the escalating clashes and used the term 'Razakars' which means 'Traitors'.

➡️ this resulted in more demonstrations by students chanting "when we asked for our rights, we were called Razakars".

➡️ The day after, on Thursday, the protests took an ugly turn as demonstrating students set fire to the country's state broadcaster,

➡️ Now a nationwide curfew that was supposed to end Sunday in Bangladesh has been extended 'indefinitely'.

➡️ Telecommunications have also been suspended - effectively isolating the country.

Those measures are in place to deter protests against the government's jobs quota system, which have seen violent police crackdowns.

I have family I cannot contact and a friend who is due to fly back on Thursday.

It's really worrying where this is going...

* The lesson here:

When Leaders get emotional in public, they create a ripple effect,

➡️ resulting in public emotions and

➡️ realisation that they need a better Leader - one who will champion the future & not repress it.

"It takes a village to raise a young person, but if they don't feel the warmth they will burn it down to get the warmth."

What do you think? Is this still ONLY about the Quota System?

Dear Community, how is your Sunday going?

After committing to join Kiechelle Degale in co-producing and curating TEDx Walthamstow, naturally attending a TEDx event was a natural next step in our progress.

I was blown away by the good will, generosity & passion of the Organisers and Speakers at TEDxBrighton

Hugely grateful to the Organisers of @TEDx Brighton for making time to share their 10 years experience with us.

🎯 My greatest take away from the trip to TEDx Brighton on Friday emphasizes my perspective on leadership.

🎯 You don't always need to be handed a 'title' to lead - the bottom line is you either take initiative or you don't.

* For as long as you struggle to take initiative, you will struggle to transition from management to leadership.

* In that case you need coaching & mentoring from one who knows the way and can show the way.

* For many founders and business owners, funding is what holds you back from taking initiative.

* I am running a Fundraising Workshop on Sunday 14th April to show you & guide you through the process of fundraising.

If you want practical guidance to help you progress from A to B - join my Fundraising Workshop on Sunday 14th April from 2 - 5pm. Your investment will be: £55.

Grab your place before bookings close!

What cultural barriers prevent women from stepping into fundraising leadership roles? on July 4 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM

There are many cultural barriers that women face in fundraising leadership roles; challenges that need to be understood and addressed, to enable us to make positive change at leadership level.

When there is so much sadness and inequity in this world, it can feel disheartening. Can our small actions, tiny drops in the ocean, make a difference?

No matter how small or big our intentions might be,

we must march forth with our DREAM,

because those creators who make change,

are just 'activists' fulfilling the need for evolution.

For as long as I can remember I've had a dream to build a Learning Institution for women living in rural areas of Bangladesh.

* A total of £50,000 will have to be raised to build the Institution and today I started fundraising by launching a Crowdfunder to raise £10,000:

One of many fundraisers in 2024...

* Ramadan is a time of deep reflection, contemplation and charity. Every year millions of Muslims like me, around the world, donate to charity. This year I hope you can donate something to this cause too; Ma Learning Institute. 🙏

✨ Sunday Reflection ✨

Having a quiet Sunday for those of us who have always had a busy professional & personal life can be a real luxury.

As a woman with huge responsibilities on my shoulders since the age of 8 or 9, I had no idea other people's norms were different.

We "don't know what we don't know".

* I was a young carer who ended up caring for extended family members, which included many adults and Sundays were the busiest day of my family life.

* Although I thrived in it, after a busy working week in senior leadership roles, I had no time left for me.

* It's only in the last two years that I discovered the joy of 'do nothing' Sundays. Now I plan them as often as possible.

* As Mehek is home from Uni, I decided to cook last night - Mum duty prevails...

* That made today a 'do nothing' day! 🤗

* Well almost, except sharing some wonderful news with you...

* Next Saturday we are inviting you all to join and I for an online celebration of Women's Day and Mothers Day (in advance).

* Here's the link to join Saturday's Celebration of Women:

Be LIVE with us on SAT 9th MARCH at 10am & let's celebrate 'WOMEN' with acknowledgement.🌹

✨ We can only think of the value of time, if we make the time to think & focus.

✨ As a Charity Leader & 'GIVER' I lived battling one crisis management situation after another.

✨ Until COVID forced me to stand still and re-evaluate my leadership approach.

✨ I realised how little time I attributed towards thinking and focusing on me...

"Thinking is growth; we cannot think without growing." - Wallace D Wattles.

💥 On 2nd of March the Award Winning Visionary and I am running a Masterclass to help you unleash your potential.

lnkd.in/e4XaAVWn

🎯 These days I allocate time every day of my week to 'think';

1) whilst content writing for LinkedIn or

2) during evenings which I have deliberately carved out as 'me time'

3) dedicated time on most Sundays

🎯 Does this resonate? Are you making time to 'think'?
