My dear friends,

Tomorrow, I would like to give you something special.

Not just a new piece of music, but a personal thank-you to every single person who has supported this channel and joined me on this journey through the North.

Last Wednesday, we welcomed the first chapter of our cinematic Nordic ambient series in the Dorian mode. The next album, based on the Aeolian mode, will arrive next week.

But before that happens, there is something special I would like to share with you.

Tomorrow, I will premiere Where the Mountains Meet the Clouds — a piece dedicated to each and every one of you as a heartfelt expression of gratitude for your support, kindness, and for being part of this journey.

The piece is also the opening track of the upcoming album—but not the version that will appear on the album itself.

What you will hear is a special edition created exclusively for this community. A version made specifically for this occasion and for the people who make this project possible and help it grow every day.

And there is more.

As the music unfolds, you will travel through breathtaking Nordic landscapes, majestic fjords, and the timeless beauty of the North. Every scene has been carefully crafted to complement the journey and draw you deeper into its atmosphere.

Please turn on the subtitles.

Before the music begins its journey, I have a few personal words for you. A message written from the heart as a thank-you for your support and for being part of this community.

So tomorrow, I ask for just 4,5 minutes of your time.

Leave the noise of everyday life behind. Let the music guide you through the North, and accept this gift as a small token of my gratitude.

The premiere begins tomorrow at 18:00 CEST.

I hope to see you there.

Christian

Dear friends,

Today, I’d like to announce a new album series coming to Vinterdrømmer.

As many of you know, Nordic Ambient has always been at the heart of Vinterdrømmer. The upcoming series will continue that journey while placing a stronger emphasis on the cinematic side of the project’s sound.

Rather than moving away from Nordic Ambient, these albums will explore it through a more cinematic lens—expanding the atmosphere, storytelling, and emotional depth while preserving the Nordic character that defines this channel.

The first album in this new series will premiere on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 18:00 CEST.

What can you expect?

The opening album is inspired by a Nordic Dorian ambient style, featuring ethereal vocalises and a rich cinematic palette of instruments.

The next album—and many future releases in this series—will take a different approach, leaning toward a Nordic Aeolian atmosphere, without vocalises and with a much more minimalist instrumental palette.

I wanted to mention this because the albums in this collection will differ significantly from one another. Unlike some of my previous releases, they won’t be built around specific instruments. Instead, each album will be shaped by a cinematic mood, emotional landscape, or story.

Some releases may be expansive and orchestral. Others may be sparse, intimate, and minimalistic. The common thread will not be the instrumentation, but the experience and emotions they create.

For those of you who create travel films, documentaries, or visual storytelling content, this may be especially exciting. You might discover new soundtracks for your future projects and adventures.

Thank you for being part of this journey and for supporting Vinterdrømmer.

Take care of yourselves, and I’ll see you on June 17th.

❄️ Cinematic Soundscapes Series begins soon. 🎬

Dear friends,

Warm greetings from my creative break.

Although I’m not creating any new music at the moment, I’ve recently been revisiting both my older and newer archives. While doing so, I came across a collection of experimental tracks in which I used humming vocals to enhance the atmosphere and emotional depth of the music.

I explored this idea quite extensively, but I never fully committed to that direction. As a result, I never created any albums built around this style, and these compositions remained unreleased.

However, I thought it would be a shame to leave them hidden away forever.

So, to keep the music flowing while I’m away, I’d like to share a small 6-track EP featuring these previously discarded pieces. Looking back, perhaps rejecting them was a mistake.

Now I’d like to hear your thoughts.

Do you enjoy this approach and think I should explore it further, or would you rather see Vinterdrømmer remain focused on purely instrumental music?

Please let me know in the comments below.

For now, I won’t be creating a separate playlist for this release. The EP will be added to the Northern Variations playlist.

🎵 The video premieres today at 18:00 CEST.

Take care of yourselves, and thank you for being part of this journey.

Dear friends,

The next album I’m currently working on will mark the end of the guitar series and the beginning of something else… my creative break.

At this moment, I haven’t decided what the next series will be like. Perhaps during this time away from creating, I’ll find inspiration for something completely new. Or maybe a sudden spark will light up in my mind and another album will arrive just a week later—you never know.

For you, my dear listeners, this will be a chance to revisit the previous releases, explore them more deeply, and enjoy them at your own pace.

The upcoming album will introduce a few subtle changes. Tagelharpa will join the journey as an additional companion instrument, bringing a new layer to the atmosphere while staying true to the spirit of Vinterdrømmer.

I’m planning to release the album on Friday, June 5th, 2026, at 18:00 CEST.

There’s also a surprise in the works. I won’t reveal much right now, except that it will be a very interesting collaboration challenge for me, and I’m excited to see where it leads.

Take care of yourselves, stay safe, and thank you for being part of this journey.

See you again soon,

Dear friends,

A new journey is already taking shape. I decided to keep the spirit of the previous album alive, but this time the atmosphere will change in subtle and meaningful ways.

The emotional tone of this album will feel warmer. This time, the flute fades into silence, making room for the subtle voice of the kantele. The sense of space will remain familiar, yet the music will invite you even deeper into reflection, memory, and quiet moments with yourself.

Before you listen, I want you to do something.

Take out your old letters.
Look through your family photographs.
Open those forgotten vacation videos.

Then start the upcoming album. Before the music fully unfolds, less than a minute will pass — by then, sit comfortably in your chair and allow your memories to return on their own.

The new album is planned for Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 18:00 CEST.

One more small announcement:

More and more people have been asking about using my music in their own videos, so I’ve added a Music Usage Policy to the descriptions of the long-form uploads.

My dear friends,

The next album will continue our signature guitar series. But this time, the true focus will not be the instruments themselves — it will be the space, the atmosphere, and the feeling surrounding them.

This journey will be deeply melancholic. At times a little sad, at times reflective and comforting. Music to fall asleep to, to cook with, to think with, to disappear into for a while. Driving to it? Probably not the best idea. ;)

The full album video is planned for tomorrow at 18:00 CEST.

Thank you for being here with me on this path.
Take care of yourselves.

Vinterdrommer

My dear friends,

I want to share something important with you. In my previous post, I mentioned that I had an idea for an album inspired by a more ancient atmosphere — something deeply rooted in the spirit and musical world of the Vikings.

I sat down and started working on it, but after building the skeletons of the first two tracks, I quickly regretted my own words. The atmosphere itself was never the problem. The real challenge was realizing that this kind of music simply does not naturally connect with what this channel has always represented — music created for relaxation, calmness, and immersion. This style belongs more on Viking battle music channels than here.

Even so, I did not want to abandon the challenge, despite being very close to giving up on the entire project. In the end, I managed to merge both worlds together — at the cost of a lot of time, frustration, and nerves :).

To avoid overwhelming the listener, I decided to balance the album carefully. One track will feel more raw and ancient, while another will feel warmer and more atmospheric. The album itself begins with the warmer side first. To truly understand what I mean, you should listen to at least the first two tracks.

Although I decided to release this project, I also decided that it will not belong to any of the existing playlists, nor will it become the beginning of a new musical direction for the channel. Instead, I created a separate playlist called “Northern Variations” which will be placed at the bottom of the main page. This playlist will become a home for all my strange experiments, unusual ideas, and future creative madness that randomly appears in my head.

As for the instrumentation — I used many folk instruments and textures throughout the album, far too many to list individually.

Please treat this release as a BONUS and an anomaly, not as a sign of where the channel is heading in the future.

The upload will go live tomorrow at 18:00 CET.

I wish all of you a peaceful and relaxing weekend.
Take care of yourselves.

Vinterdrommer

My dear friends,

I’m planning to release the next long-form upload tomorrow at 18:00 CEST.

The previous one with the lower-tuned instruments was received very well, so I decided not to change too much for this next journey. The atmosphere will remain deeply rooted in that darker Nordic resonance, but with a few subtle evolutions.

Some of the changes you may notice:

• At certain moments, the fingerstyle guitar will feel a little less restrained and more emotionally expressive.
• In a few tracks, you’ll hear a low-tuned cello used more as a texture than a leading instrument — blending into the atmosphere rather than standing in front of it.
• The dialogue between the guitar and the flute will happen more often, becoming the emotional core of several compositions.

After this release, I may finally begin creating the album that has been living in my mind for some time now. I would like to push it further into an ancient Nordic atmosphere — something much more rooted in strong Viking-era emotion and spirit.

Whether that project truly happens depends on one thing: I need to feel that the atmosphere is authentic and fully captured. If I cannot achieve that feeling, I would rather create something completely different instead.

More information will come later — whether this ancient vision becomes reality, or whether an entirely different path reveals itself.

Stay healthy, and I wish all of you a wonderful week ahead.
