One way to reduce problems related to spending long time in microgravity, such as loss of muscles and bone density, is to create artificial gravity. Acceleration creates an effect which mimics gravity. There are mainly two ways to use acceleration for that purpose, which is by using linear or circular motion. We have seen artificial gravity in sci-fi movies, but in real life there are some issues that create practical difficulties.
